This sleeping bag did not fit me. I'm 5'10" and about 250lbs. I do have large shoulders, and that is where I didn't fit. Also the foot box was way to small. I'm only a size 11 shoe, and me feet were really cramped. I get this is a backpacking bag, but it should really have a little more room. I bought both the large and small version of this bag for my wife and I. She is 5' 1 and barely fit in the small bag. I was also disappointed in the quality of the fabric. It had quite a few sewing snags in it for the price. Unfortunately Kelty equipment isn't the old Kelty we remember. I would recommend finding a different brand.

Been testing this bag for the last three months. Was too warm at first and used it more like a blanket. As it got cooler I started zipping it up and it has kept me perfectly comfortable in the 40-45 temps we are having now. Not the lightest bag on the market, but this synthetic fill model will handle moisture and storage better than down. Overall, Kelty delivered exactly what was promised with this bag. Satisfied, and will be buying Kelty bags for the kids and spouse.

After trying out this sleeping bag in only 58 F-degree weather, I don't think I can recommend any sleeping bag that doesn't come with a draft collar. This is a flap that lays on your chest close to your neck to prevent drafts from entering in from the gaps around your face. With the Kelty's face opening design shape of a capital D on the side, instead of an oval, it's hard to get it sealed around your face well. No sleeping bag has a perfect seal, but this one seems worse than others. And since it doesn't have a draft collar, that gap is really noticeable. It's ISO rated at 38 degrees, which means they did a test with a mannequin to verify the rated temperature, but mannequins don't move around during the test, so drafts don't affect the tests.I have other Kelty sleeping bags that are rated for colder temperatures, and they have draft collars. Their 20-degree bag is pretty nice, although heavier.Kelty is a pretty good budget brand, but don't get their 40-degree bags, because they don't have draft collars. I mean seriously, how much weight and cost would that add, just include it.

Purchased for use in campsites during a monthlong motorcycle ride across Canada and into Alaska. Sleeping bag was good. Only downside is that there's not a lot of room for my knees to move around in it.

My first colder weather bag. I had my doubts on the low temp rating as I tend to run a little on the colder side but this bag kept me snuggly warm! I had even brought a small wool camp blanket for inside the bag just in case. The extra blanket ended up being more of a luxury than a need. Slept well in our tent through mid 30 nights with rain. I'm 5'7 and 180 so I opted for men's bag as it had a little more shoulder width than the women's. Glad I did, with it being a mummy style (which this was also my first) I am not used to the snug fit and like the ability to move about within the bag.
