I purchased these to replace the deteriorated foam perimeter on a Vintage Kennwood 8" subwoofer. I fully read the directions before starting, which is key for success on this. I used a Q-Tip to apply the rubbing alcohol to the perimeter of the speaker itself and the perimeter of the metal speaker housing to remove all of the old foam and adhesive. I used an Xacto knife to carefully scrape the remaining foam off of the speaker and a small chisel to remove the adhesive from the metal frame. Once everything was dry, I dry-fitted the new foam surround and then used a paint marker to outline the perimeter on the speaker where the new foam was to be placed. This paint line made it easy to know where to apply the new adhesive. If you look at the pictures, you can see the white paint line. Once I had the new foam in place, I applied the adhesive where the original perimeter gasket was to be placed, and I used binder clips to place even pressure on the gasket until it set-up. I tested the speaker after 36 hours of drying and it sounds great.

These simple replacement parts fixed my 35-year-old Kenwood speakers, which now sound as good as ever. Definitely better than spending hundreds of dollars to replace speakers that only need these little foam rings.
