I’ve always enjoyed the quality of iMac displays and was impressed by this product that allows me to use my old iMac as an HDMI screen. I removed all the inside components of my old 27” iMac and mounted the 2 display boards by screwing them into available holes in the iMac. I was able to screw the control board into the ram slot screw holes so the buttons are available on the underside of the iMac. I ran the power and HDMI cable through the hole where the iMac kettle plug used to be. I tested on a 2012 MacBook Pro and the screen displays the maximum 1080p resolution available on that model. I also tested. 2021 M1 MacBook Pro and the full 2k native resolution on the screen works. Color is superb. I used a 12v 3a wall wart power supply which does get quite warm when the display is on.

After opening my imac 2 or 3 times over the years (various upgrades) I had to open my imac again to repair a bad wifi card. I noticed the v-sync cable had worn out (pin connectors peeled off) from disconnecting it and re-connecting it several times. Initially I thought this ribbon cable could not be replaced and was permanently affixed to the lcd panel but low and behold under some thermal tape on the lcd yes this cable comes out and can be replaced. This replacement cable installs exactly like the original and works perfect. Thank you for selling it on a to z.
