Solid construction. Stitches hold up well and protects from heat adequately. Washable. Shown here on my Cabelas 12” pan.

They work, like an oven mitt for the handle, not the hand. One warning… remove if you have a gas stove, they can scorch.

I have a few cast iron pans and only one has a handle mitt, which I purchased and added on. My reason for purchasing was to have a few others on hand for the other cast iron pans I own.My original pan holder was the Lodge Silicone type... it was ok, and better than having to grab an oven mitt. Now that I purchased this set, I'm definitely going to buy 2 more. I most definitely prefer these cloth ones over the Silicone type. I feel that they do a better job at insulating my hand from the heat of the pan. Tehy are made of the typical pot holder cloth and insulation that most people are familiar with. Not bad looking either. I also like how much less slippery it is when holding the pan. The Silicone exterior isn't slippery but it's the handle that slips around inside that I don't like. It almost feels like the pan handle will slide out of the pot holder. The only pro I can find over these cloth pot holders is that the silicone is more easily washable in the sink with regular dish soap. I'm sure the cloth pot holders are washable too, but of course now there's a wait on drying time. After using Lodge's two forms of pot holders, I'd definitely recommend these cloth type ones, hands down!!I bought this from the seller "Amazon.com LLC", which I feel is important to list this info. I've come across sellers with variances in their items, including knockoffs, even if listed as same brand.***UPDATE*** 1-22-18It's now been over half a year since my original purchase. They're holding up great. Washable & easy to clean. I just purchased 2 more sets, so now every iron pan has their own handle holder. I may just toss the silicone one I originally purchased, for the plain fact I don't like using it anyway. I just hate throwing money away like that, but it's nothing compared to the cloth ones. I feel safer using these. The one & only downside I've found, is the cloth handle holders are made in China...

I love these pot handles they fit on all my different brand and size cast iron skillets and all of my other skillets and pots. They are machine washable if they get dirty and don't shrink in size making them unusable. My cast iron skillet handles get so hot on the stove that I use to have a towel handy to avoid scorching my hands. With these pothandle covers I avoid such mishaps as grabbing the hot handles when I'm stirring food or shifting the pots around on the stove. I had a set of these before that lasted over 15 years and held up to several washing or getting wet in the sitting in the sink. I was so happy to find these pot handle cover on Amazon and the price is less than my originals I bought at a chain home cooking type restaurant that is famous for they're fried chicken and country potatoes. I didn't have to make a special trip to the restaurants adjacent country store and end up spending more and buying more stuff. The shipping was quick and since they came right to my door there was no need for a special trip out to replace the old ones. The stitching is strong , doesn't ravel, holds up very well to everyday usage and washing. Even as hot as cast iron handles get you won't feel any heat radiating through them. They have insulating fabric inside that keeps your handles cool to the touch. They are so convenient to use and have saved me from making the mistake of grabbing a hot handle. They would be a great add on wedding present if your buying the couple kitchen ware. A young bride might not know she needs them but will be thankful everyday when she uses them. They slip on and off easily compared to silicone covers which have to be shimmy on. You won't be disappointed with these pot holders.

When I first looked at this product, it reminded me of something that I'd find in my grandmother's kitchen. Being a man of the 21st Century, it wasn't "hi tech" enough for me. So I bought a Crucible Cookware silicone handle holder because of it's great reviews, and it failed utterly. It conducted heat like metal, burned my hand, and didn't fit my pan at all.So, I decided to swallow my pride and admit that maybe my grandma was right and "old-fashioned" didn't necessarily mean bad. So I threw some money at this product, not expecting a whole lot but figuring it wasn't that expensive. To use my grandma's adage, "Oh my stars!" This product was leaps and bounds above that "new-fangled" silicone contraption.Unlike the silicone holder, they slide on and off with ease, and they still manage to fit snugly enough that the pan full of hot grease doesn't wobble when I try to move it. The pan is held just as if not more tightly as if I used a normal potholder... no wiggle-room. I can slide it on and off without having to hold the pan still, and they stay cool-enough-to-touch even after sitting on the hot pan for several minutes.Full disclosure: I don't keep them on the handle while I'm cooking, because I try to avoid having fabric near open flame (I paid attention in 6th-grade Home Economics), but they slide on and off so easily that I don't have to leave them in place. That being said, I don't know how well they would conduct/ contain heat if someone left them on the whole time. But like I said, you don't have to... just keep one near the stove top and slide it on or off at your leisure. As the five-star rating may imply, I was very happy with this product. These handle holders are also longer than they appears, and cover the entire handle of my standard 10 inch skillet very nicely. Sometimes, I guess, doing things the old-fashioned way is still the best way.
