Pump worked great for the first few weeks. Then it started leaking then locked up and does not work. Only pumping water out of 55 gallon drum.

Top cap leaked where it mates to uptake tube. Cause: poor sealing material and workmanship. Varnish like clear sealant was applied but not evenly and not completely coated. Net result was top cap pipe threads glued to those up uptake tube. Gasoline poured out with each stroke of the pump. Fix was to mount uptake tube in vice, remove top cap with pipe wrench, wire brush threads of top cap and uptake tube clean, then reseal with proper petro-chemical resistant pipe thread sealant. Alot of time fussing in the garage for a 25 dollar POS!

This is a good pump - Not the Best but a Very Good one. The reason for this negative is the material. If you put a big enough ding in the tube the plunger will get hung-up or just flat will not let it work as it it should. Still if you put it in a barrel and just use it leaving it in there and then placing it in a new one when the other is empty it is a Great Unit and it moves the liquid and I mean it moves it. No other problems to speak of that are worth mentioning as you can see it is made well and what can go wrong with a unit made well. The Dig issue is the only thing to keep in mind if not in a barrel or a storage area so it cannot get the one Ding to cause a problem.Will Pump Your Heart Out if you stay with it to long lolThe Train

This product works well but the nut that screws into the barrel is just a little undersized and it is very hard to keep in place. Even if you wrap the threads with a thread tape it just doesn't hold well.
