This kit is not one I would recommend for the ford triton spark plug thread repair. Price is ridiculously high, and quality of the repair is inferior to the Cal-Van kit.

In July of 2020 I blew a spark plug in an R53 Mini Cooper S. New to this type of repair, and trying to avoid spending thousands to replace the cylinder, I purchased an inexpensive, common thread repair kit (amzn.to/3n0Xvix). This was a fairly easy repair and did the job... for 15 months, then it blew out again. Now doing more research, I find out that these types of kits often are only temporary repairs. So now in October 2021, I have a bigger stripped-out spark plug hole. And none of the inexpensive standard M14mm Helicoil repair kits in the auto parts stores will work because of the bigger stripped hole. Although quite a big increase in cost from the standard kits ($30 vs. $376), I found Big-Sert (amzn.to/3F1APoG) oversized thread repair kit made by Time-Sert. After multiple emails with Time-Sert's tech department, they guided me with advice on the right kit and procedure to install correctly. The install went smoothly and I highly doubt that this plug hole will ever blow out again. I will update this review if it does.Had I known the pro's and con's of this type of repair the first time my plug blew out, I would have spent the additional money and bought the standard (M14 mm 1.25 | amzn.to/3c1SEr8), higher-end Time-Sert repair kit, and most likely would not have had to do this repair twice and at a substantial cost for the bigger hole kit. Seeing that I could not find another manufacturer that offers a second (bigger hole) thread repair kit, I do feel that they got you by the cojones with the high price. Lesson learned? Do your research and don't skimp the first time on something as simple, yet important as this type of repair.
