I got these little usb microphones because I purchased a Mac Mini, and needed a mic in case I had do a Skype call. I didn't have high hopes for these, but they really exceeded my expectations. I have tried the mic in a few different places, and even somewhat behind my monitor, plugged into a kvm switch, it picks up my voice fine. Input gain on the Mac is turned up to 10, but the test recordings I've made are perfectly adequate. For less than ten bucks, I'm pleasantly surprised.

I have my laptop docked and tucked away. I plug this little mic into the monitor usb port and everyone can hear my well on meetings.
