I've been engineering for about 5 years now and this book solved a lot of my noise problems that the internet couldn't seem to fix. It has a reasonable amount of information on every topic they bring up, including math equations; especially on acoustic treatment. One good thing about this book is that it restates important things discussed earlier in the book (with reference pages) to refresh your memory.

Excellent Purchase. Authors have a great way of explaining the material. Would recommend this book if you are thinking of starting a course in Sound Engineering.

Everything you need to know about recording.. Gear, EQ, home studio setups. I'm taking a class and this is our textbook. I am so surprised how much information is packed in this book. Definitely get this if you want to know every secret there is about frequencies, recording, and all around sound.

Great text for anyone looking to improve their recording techniques. I bought for a college course and all my audio and media professors have stated that they have been using this text for years. They even had the previous editions to prove it.Very clear and in depth.

I bought this book because my recording arts class didn't require a book. As its a topic I've been interested in I am really enjoying it. Someone at a studio also told me they use this book at many schools. It's well written and easy to read.

This book was a requirement for a Multitrack Recording class I am taking at a local community college. They go into every aspect of the subject in great detail. This edition is up to date with the current trends and gear in the recording industry today. A must have for any recording studio.

Per chi dovesse avvicinarsi al mondo della registrazione audio è da prender sicuramente in considerazione. Consigliato anche per neofiti. Il manuale è tutto in lingua inglese.

The book is well written and does a good job of explaining a complicated subject in an easy to understand manner. It is well worth the money and the time you spend reading and putting the knowledge it gives you into practice.

I find this book generally very helpful and more broad and discussive in style and content than 'in-depth'. I suggest borrowing a copy before buying but for me it sits very nicely beside othe rbooks such as the very practical, 'Mixing Secrets For The Small Studio' by Mike Senior, the all-the-way-through-university 'Sound and Recording' by Rumsey and McCormick and 'Mastering Audio' by Bob Katz. I'd would give the book 4 stars but the online teachers resources are worth the extra star!

Very good book. I have the 2001 edition and in comparison the new one has a wealth of new information that follows the tech of modern times. Must read for sure, it doesn't disappoint.

This book is incredibly in-depth, easy to read, and full of great DIY experiments to further explain and experience the concepts. This book will lay the groundwork and build a solid core understanding of the theory and practice of recording audio. It will make the process of learning and trying out the recording process so much easier. Just don't forget to get out there and start using this information.

A book for all novices. Covers the scenario in a structured and easy to understand manner. An expert may not find it that useful though.

I've been recording for over 30 years divided between analog and digital equally and this book is a good source of general information on both sides. While the information is great it only goes so deep into details, which probably would take an encyclopedia to cover. Nonetheless it is a good reference for general information with very good insight in how to approach many aspects of the music world. A lot of information even for seasoned folks and can refresh some things that we tend to forget. Easy to read and the author breaks it down pretty well. While staying on the side of factual information the author does share his opinions from experience which is also very refreshing.
