This is a lovely little Christmas village townhouse which would make for a great starter piece or look good in the background of a larger village setup. I like that's designed like 4 little shops in one and that the lights are LED. However, it is made of plastic, which might not be as high-end as some other village pieces, but it still looks great from a distance. The biggest downside is the music—there’s no volume adjustment, just an on/off switch. It would have been nice to have a lower volume option for a more subtle background effect.

due to low cost and plastic building material, i expected this to not look quite as nice as my other buildings. but it is a very good value for a beginner village

What am I reviewing?I am reviewing MOMENTS IN TIME (8.7”) High Plastic 1929 Townhouse Street Scene Christmas Village with LED Light and Music.How this arrived?Within a somewhat sturdy, but not that thick, nor that durable retail like cardboard package that had the Moments in Time brand plastered everywhere, as is it was a wrapped Christmas Present. [No information, like product detail was found on the exterior.]Size of the package?It was rectangular, measuring about 13.5” x 10” x 16”.Weight of package?It weighed just over two (2) pounds.What was inside?The Moments In Time Christmas Village of course; and the set was packed appropriately, with Styrofoam sides; securely.Immediate thoughts?A bit of buyer’s remorse. So lightweight. Maby too lightweight, to the point it felt cheap. This is a cute and novel set, from a competitive [but in my eyes, not a] leading brand name called Moments In Time. I was happy but not ecstatic, as it looked as if quality control was not perfect, for instance, usually there is a screw in the battery compartment door; there was a space for one, but it was missing. I prefer to have a screw to shut this tight, as I have small curious children.Value?I do not think I received fair value, at its full retail value; my thoughts were validated when after I had selected this, the value dropped to half, with its posted discount. My thoughts were confirmed, when I discovered from the catalog this was packed with, indicated this was from Christmas 2023. Further, it’s a very lightweight piece at just over 1½ pounds.Lights?Yes, colorful, not that many, and flashing bright.Music?Yes, this lights up and plays eight (8) classic Christmas songs, at a level that I consider a tad on the loud side.Can the sound be adjusted?Hmm, to off, yes, otherwise, there is nothing to adjust volume.Switch?Yes, Lights only, off, and lights and music.Batteries included?No, which, at the price point this was selected at, batteries should have been included.Batteries needed?Three (3) double A.Size of village?About 12½” x 4½” x 8¾”.Country of origin?Made in China.Made from?Some sort of plastic.Date of manufactureUnknown – but I suspect 2022 to prior to Christmas 2023, since this is from their 2023 catalog.Placement?Placement is only limited by my imagination. For the time being, this has been placed on a living room entertainment cabinet with other festive village type scenes.Criticism(s)?I thought this was new stock from their 2024 catalog, however, the brochures and that included made me conclude this was from their 2023 catalog. Too lightweight. Inability to control volume. Missing battery compartment screw made me think this was a return and re-retail.Is this perfect?No. For me, this is four (4) star at best.I hope my thoughts offered a tad bit of additional information.
