Although this guitar hanger did what I needed it to do, it left a few things to be desired.First of all, it may not fit the guitar you want to hang. That depends on the depth of the guitar body and the placement of your instrument's control knobs. For grins, I tried it on a few of my guitars. More often than not, the knobs and/or selector switches interfered with the mount.Second, the part that attaches to the wall is welded to the center of the rails. So if you need to extend the length of the mount, the center of gravity shifts as well. It would be nice if the support for the neck could be moved away from the attachment point, keeping the weight of the guitar body more centered. That is important because friction is the only thing which keeps the hanger from swiveling around the attachment point.Third, this mount is for right-handed guitars only. That's not a problem for me, but you lefties out there will have to hang your guitar upside-down.Fourth, the hanger did not come with the added attachment that is shown in the third of the product's pictures. The hanger comes with two screws and two drywall anchors that I would not trust to the weight of some electric guitars. I suggest some heftier #10 screws and locate a good stud in your wall to drive them into.On the plus side, the cradle which holds the guitar is nicely padded with closed cell foam. All of the materials used for the hanger itself are heavy weight. The reason I downgraded sturdiness to four stars is for the friction fit around the swivel point and the undersized mounting screws/anchors.As I said, the hanger worked for me. It may be fine for you. But this is not a one-size-fits-all solution.

I bought both the electric and acoustic wall mounts. Quality is very good. They are good as is and functional. I made a couple of modifications to mine. I wanted one with the neck going to the left and I felt it was cosmetically more pleasing to shorten the arms that support the body.Unfortunately, these aren't easily reversible because of the neck support welded into place. The actual wall mount portion can be swapped over and the body holder removed and flipped. So, really all they would have to do to upgrade this to go either way would be to make the base of the neck support square and thread the end. Then it could be easily changed over.Photo of before and after shortening body arms.

The guitar is not getting fit in the space provided in the below part of the stand as the space is too less. May be suitable for thin electric guitar and not acoustic. There are no screws or hinge given with the stand.

I do like this. It was very easy to install and hold my LP perfectly and is sturdy. I don't think I'd used it for an acoustic though.

This is a great product--and on top of that, it is cheap, too. I took the advice of some others on here, and used my own screws and made certain to drill into a stud. Seems quite stable. I'm alright with supplying my own screws at this price point, for sure (plus, mine were black and the ones that come with the kit are not black, by the way). This thing will hold all kinds of weird-shaped guitars with no trouble. I placed a B.C. Rich Mockingbird in there; cradled it like a baby. Same for a Guild Skyhawk, a B.C. Rich Warlock, and even a Westone Dynasty Bass (that is my longest guitar by far). All look fantastic on the wall, being held at that same angle you might see someone playing them at. The days of my guitars being hung straight up-and-down by the headstock are over.A few issues to note, though:1) The picture above of a locking mechanism with teeth is not correct. There is no such mechanism on this thing. I saw that in the question section, and was okay with it not being that way when it arrived. It doesn't seem to need it. However, no matter how hard you tighten that bolt in the center that the horizontal bars your guitar is being held up by (you do this with an Allen wrench, supplied), there will be a little movement possible if you reach out and use a little force. If someone walked by and bumped into it, you might need to readjust. Advantage is, if you walk by and decide to tweak the angle a bit, you can totally do that with no tools. It's holding my heavy and very long Dynasty bass at the angle I want and it's not moving on its own, though, so I am happy. The kit came with a little washer with teeth that is probably supposed to help with this action, but it is probably totally flattened out behind there now. I suspect a quality lockwasher with teeth around it found at the hardware store would help this out. If I notice the thing tilting in the future, that's my plan.2) Once attached to the wall securely, there is the back end of a bolt you turn with an Allen wrench (in the kit) that WILL scrape the wall if you readjust the tilt. This is behind the part that holds the body of your guitar; it's adjustable so you can put it anywhere down the length of the horizontal bars in case your ax is longer or shorter or whatever--great feature. I shoved a little piece of dense foam between it and the wall that I have laying around to keep it from making a little dent in the wall behind it. One of those little felt thingies you put on the bottom of chair feet might do, too.Minor issues for an otherwise perfect product at this price point. I'm gonna buy a couple more of these, to be sure! Man, my ax sure looks cool up there on the wall on a tilt like that! Recommended!!

nice product, hardware is junk. wall mount attachment plate could be larger. It holds guitar away from the wall a little farther than I prefer and the bracket arms that hold the guitar over laps it a little too much, but at least its secure.Another thing is the arm that holds the neck shows, i wish it was offset more so you didnt see that. Personally I want it to look like its just pasted to the wall with no bracket or hanger visible.
