The metal clip that locks the connector into the laptop motherboard was missing; it had clearly been ripped off the connector when the seller/supplier removed it from the previous laptop or something, since the little metal tabs that hold it in place were bent.So, the product is still functional, since the connector mates snugly with the motherboard even without the clip, but I worry that it will work loose and be unreliable over time; we'll see...
