Been looking for a way to make my 75 horse preform better! And after I rebuilt all 3 carburetors I still didn’t feel like it was preforming like it should!! So I decided to do a little research on this mercury outboard and found out the prop that was on the boat when I purchased it used had to much pitch in the prop for this 75 horse!!! How much is too much you ask ??? It was a 13 1/4 + 23 prop when purchased and the back up was a 13 1/4 +19 the latter of the two I’m keeping in reserve! I now have a new prop that is a 13 1/4 +17 and this 20 +year old outboard is running at 3/4 throttle now and is preforming much better! I’ll be changing out the jets 90 horse jets ! I learned that the motors are exactly the same but the 75 horse has smaller jets than the 90 horse! I highly recommend this prop to anyone who is looking to improve the performance of their own outboard motor!!!
