The advertising for these pot holders says their material is cotton, but it is NOT, and these pot holders are DANGEROUS. While they may have some cotton in the middle layer, the fabric on both outer sides of the pot holders I received is SYNTHETIC, likely polyester, maybe nylon. I suspected as soon as I saw them, so I removed a tiny thread from the fabric and lit it with a match. A cotton fiber would ignite with a flash and turn to ash faster than you could snap your fingers, but this fabric's fiber MELTED. Synthetic fabric around fire is very dangerous and could result in severe burns, so I've reported this to Amazon.I once knew a magician who had a long-running musical stage show at a casino in Nevada. He found and wanted to wear a white polyester shirt he liked very much that had puffy sleeves and was all shiny under the stage lighting. Members of his pyrotechnical team warned him that wearing a non-cotton shirt around fireworks was inviting disaster. Sure enough, later that year a stray spark ignited that shirt. As it was burning, it melted onto his body, and the molten, screaming-hot plastic resulted in him ending up in the hospital with second and third-degree burns.That's why pot holders need to be cotton, and this seller's claims that these are cotton are misleading customers into believing they're safe.

These work well. They are not thick but are sufficient and are easy to flex and grab pans.

I bought similar @ Target years ago that I have used forever. Hoping these would be as nice but while they are the preferred cotton I wanted, they are super thin.

Many of today's mtts are just too large for me to handle comfortably. They are not coated with anything. Just a great old fashioned type of oven pad in current color.

I liked these, they look nice. The only downfall is how thin they are, I do use both when I’m setting a pot on it.
