Bought this to see if it would work and for the price as well. I have a 7x mini lathe. I'm new to this so I'm not experienced in inserts. All I know is the size I need and go from there. I tried turning small stock of aluminum, SS and cold roll. Well once I got it running the whole thing started chattering like crazy, making me wonder if my machine was bad, as I had just replaced the bearings to tapered ones. Tried all materials, different speed/feed rates as well as small/larger depth cuts with the same outcome. Than I tried the usual inserts I use and problem gone. I'm not sure if it was a bad set as I tried 2 inserts. Maybe my machine is too small but either way, they didn't work for me. Luckily for the easy returns, I did orderea different insert from a different seller. Let's see how that goes. I'd give it less stars but since the shipping/return process is easy, that's the only reason for the extra star. Hopefully this helps, and if theres a better suggestion on which to get. That would be greatly appreciated.

These where purchase to replace used insert on my Anytime Tools 5 Piece 3/8" Mini Lathe Indexable Carbide Insert Tool Bit Set. They fit all my mini lathe bit sets that use triangle inserts. They last longer that the original inserts when used for turning aluminum T-6 stock. I haven't used them for any other type material. I will be ordering more when I am in need of new inserts.
