I ordered this for my MacBook Pro 2015, along with a new motherboard, both of which shorted out after ten years. The job is time consuming, but once you take apart a Mac, it gets easy to do. Some say that you can replace it without removing the board, but even if mine wasn't damaged, I woudn't try bending the board to fit it in. Once the board was properly removed, it fit very easily. This new port replacement works perfectly and was very reasonably priced (thankfully!).

Just replaced this charging port on my mid 2015 MacBook a1398 model, it works great, great value for the price. Installation is not the easiest but it can be done with patience. Battery is charging as normal

The Item Fit Perfecly but the Magnet is not as strong as the OEM from Apple. I would buy again

After waiting for it to arrive and taking my Macbook Pro apart, tiny screws everywhere and dogs trying to jump up to see what I was doing, I was more than irate when I took it out of the bag and upon trying to install it, noticed several of the wires were not even soldered to the PCB, had to put my old one back in and put the Macbook back together, what a huge waste of time.

I bought this in hopes I could fix the charging port in my macbook myself. Long story short, my nephew ended up doing it for me and I’m so happy to be able to charge it again. It’s been charging just like it’s brand new and it saved me a ton of $$ because I didn’t need to pay a professional to fix it.

Needed a new charging port, yes this install is a little tedious, but it is to be expected due to the fact its an APPLE product. Easier to install with a plastic spudger tool.

This worked great and saved my computer! However, it is a bit of a pain to replace... It requires you to take almost every screw out and several ribbon cables which you later have to put back. (you will need a fine set of star head screwdriver) Make sure you take pictures before you start and perhaps a few as you progress with the disassemble because they will be helpful when you try to get everything back where it belongs.

It can be tricky to get access to the old jack but with careful undoing of many tiny screws you can gently pry up the main circuit board to get the old one out and the new one in. It's much harder to get the new one in place because this is where the prying of the main board happens. There might be an easier way to avoid this but I took out every screw that I could find which includes heat sinks, fan, main board. When you remove the old one, make note of which side of the plug faces up. I do not believe there are notches in the plug or socket that will prevent you installing the plug upside down.
