About this item

  • Small & Medium Boxes Kit: Inner size: 3.8" H x 2.5" D. Outer size: 5.1" H x 3.2" D. Suitable for medium fish tanks with a length of less than 23 inches. Perfect for shrimp betta, guppy, clownfish, platy or other aquatic dwellers
  • Practical Breeder Box: 2 separate chambers provide a completely safe environment for the parent fish to spawn and raise baby fish. Greatly protect newborn fry from being eaten or attacked and improve the survival rate of baby fish
  • Unique Mesh: Upper plastic mesh with big holes enables fry to easily fall into the protective space below. The bottom fine nylon netting with needle-sized holes always allows for smooth water flow while securely containing the inhabitants
  • Multipurpose: Also work great as a separator! In addition to serving as a hatchery, the aquarium fish breeding box always keeps fierce or aggressive fish out, providing a safe shelter for weak or injured fish. Or isolate them inside for domestication
  • Floating Design: No suction cups required! 2 foam rings with negligible weight easily keep the plastic isolation box floating on the water at all times. And the depth of the 2 boxes in the water can be changed at will by moving the foam rings up and down

Works fantastic. My female guppy gave birth 3 days after I got her so I was not prepared at all. There were only 3 but I managed to save one with this nursery. I love that it floats freely so I never have to adjust it when the water level changes. The mesh is small enough to keep the fry in and I can refresh the water just by lifting it up and down. And the fry food stays contained as well. I hope to be able to use it in the future with other guppy mothers before they give birth as well. Definitely worth the $.

I'm running out of tanks in my home due to Multiple Tank Syndrome, so I ordered these as an option to temporarily keep a fish in another tank while I do a re-scape or deep clean in another tank. For that, these have worked wonderfully. I like that it allows for good water flow, and stable temperature. It takes the hassle out of setting up the hospital tank for temporary use and it's so much easier. The only thing I'm not a fan of is how flimsy the plastic is. It's a little bit stronger than a red solo cup - but not by too much.

We thought our little barbs were pregnant, but no signs just yet. But this container looks to be just what she will need to keep herself and her babes safe from the other fish. Easy to use (we dropped it in the tank to test). Now we keep waiting.

The breeder box worked as intended and didn’t cause any issues in my aquarium. I was able to save a lot of fry from being eaten by the mother. It floats well, and I really like that it doesn’t require suction cups. The foam rings are easy to adjust, which makes setting the depth simple. The only downside is that the foam rings are a bit hard to clean. Still, there was no impact on water parameters, and everything stayed stable in the tank. Nothing has cracked or torn, even with my clumsy handling. Overall, it’s a great addition to my aquarium toolbox, and I’m glad I got it.

As expected. It took me a bit to figure out how to use it but I got it down and hopefully my snail clutch will hatch out!

I have 7 aqauriums, so I am always moving someone and always have fry (babies). I have a Betta in a small tank and it always makes me feel bad cleaning her tank. I typically have to put her in a bowl and rush. Not anymore. I was able to put her in one of these and let her float in another tank. I also had ordered me some Pygmy Corydoras and I was able to let them float for a little while before adding them in. The same day I received these, my Sterbai Corydoras decided it looked like a good spot to lay eggs. Thankfully, they laid them on the smaller one, so I was able to put it in the larger one. THEN, my Koi Platy-Swordtail Hybrid decided to start having her brood. It has been a busy day to say the least. If you have aqauriums, these are a must. I've tried multiple breeder boxes and most of them are just a hassle. Not these. You literally drop them in/pull them out. That's it.

Very nice breeder box! It was bigger than what I was expecting and I’m very happy about that. It will hold a single fish perfectly with lots of room. The bottom mesh is super close together so that the baby fry won’t get out until you’re ready to release them. Ive had issues with other breeder boxes being too big that the fry get out. I will be purchasing more of these!
