I had needle felting as a rotating hobby a few years back (I'm someone who will frequently pick up a new craft for 3-6 months and go hard, then stop), so I had a good amount of experience crafting three dimensional needle felted projects. I had not yet tried felting onto any kind of canvas.I would have preferred to try the Flowers since it looked more three dimensional, but it was not available, so I went with the Butterfly pattern. My opinions:Pros:✅ The product images are pretty✅ The price is reasonable to dabble✅ Quantity of needles could be adequate✅ Essentially a complete kit✅ More than adequate quantity of brightly colored woolNeutral:🔘 This is something that will take much longer than 2-3 hours if you want it to look nice🔘 Fair amount of other misrepresentation in this product listing🔘 Product images are definitely not of real completed projects🔘 Foam pad is not as nice to work on as a felted pad, but won't stick to the project🔘 Butterfly printed wing design is needlessly complicated🔘 Instructions could be better🔘 Needle can be used bare but is much more comfortable with a handle, not includedCons:❌ Definitely not for beginners❌ Should include at least one finger guard for safety, preferably two (finger and thumb)❌ Wool colors were not represented accurately❌ Provide better needles, and more than one gradeIf you're experienced at needle felting, this is a reasonable kit. If you've never picked up a felting needle, get ready to turn your brain on and put on some calming music. When you're done you should have enough wool left over to play with.

Cute and easy handicraft. It was simple enough for my 11 year old to do. It comes with everything needed and the quality is good.

This review is for the Perycomly Flowers Needle Felting Kit, which is one of the most beautiful and easy crafts I have done. The kit comes with everything you need to make a felted, framed, piece as shown. It makes a great gift for a craft friend or family member. It does take a few minutes to learn this skill, but you will enjoy the process. The colors are true to the images.

I enjoy many hobbies and while I have been crocheting, knitting and sewing for a number of years, I wanted to try my hand at something else in the textiles realm and found these felting kits. This kit comes with everything you will need to get started, a hoop, the background felt with the design drawn on, wool and several felting needles.With the needles you may think they feel weird or that they appear to have rust on the tips. They do not. I thought the same things myself and decided to see if I could find a site on what felting needles look like and it appears that each needle will have several very small holes(notches?) on them which helps grab the wool fibers and set them to the fabric. I appreciate learning something new everyday, this one was certainly not expected.The kit seems easy enough to set up and I would venture there is a learning curve in understanding just how you work the needles and get it to set the right amount of wool fibers, but this is what we look forward to with projects such as this one. Learning.The colors of the wool match the picture on the site and the dyes used are vibrant. I do not see any dullness in the threads and they compliment each other well. This seems like it would be a great kit for a white elephant gift or for those you know who like to crochet/knit and are looking for another challenge. While I do not doubt that this would be a fun project for anyone interested, even kids, I would caution that the needles are quite sharp and so children under certain ages should be supervised.I would say that the price of $12.99 is a quite reasonable one for what you receive in the kit.

Review for: Perycomly Butterfly Needle Felting Kit with Video Tutorial, Needle Felting Set with Needles, Foam Pad, Felt Cloth, Picture Frame, and Instructions--------------------------------------------CONS:1. Instead of the pink and teal, I got Ronald McDonald orange and dark blue2. The video instruction is the last item in the photo section here on the Amazon page.- video is sped up super-fast (I understand they did that because they are showing how to do the entire project, but there is no way for us beginners to slow it down so we can really see what she is doing)- wool blending, rolling, stabbing, etc, is out of camera view many times- hard to see how she gets the details in the wings because of the speed and way the camera is angled.3. Needles are crap – they bend super easy.

I get the sense that the product image is AI, but it is also easy for felting pieces to look AI IRL anyway.The materials are quality (except the foam back, but I get it so I will let it pass).The felt back is a nice clean white and it fits well in the included hoop. The felting fiber feels nice and the colors are brightly saturated.The instructions are clear and simple.Overall, this makes felting very approachable to people new to the craft as well as people with experience looking to make something semi-mindlessly
