This has 2 layers - the inner one might be leather but the outer one definitely isn't. That's a dealbreaker on its own, but the quality of construction is also poor - see photos.

I’m not convinced this is real leather. If it is, in fact, real it’s very low quality. I used this for four days and it’s nearly falling apart. The material warps and twists if it gets damp at all.

This is a superior product with genuine leather and very good stitching. It is large enough for garden shears, probably, though I'm using it for-full sized wire cutters. There is plenty of space for the cutters and a good, solid 'snap' to keep the cutters from falling out. In fact, the sheath is just a little too big for my full-sized wire cutters, but they will work well enough and I'm happy with the quality of this product.
