I took a gamble on this unit, as I needed a new means to line out my PC audio with better sound than the standard tinny watered-down audio quality of your basic PC speakers. I used to use small boomboxes and other audio components (like tape decks) to also get some level meter readings. I still use the decks with meters, but my boombox (receiver) died, so I found this. The price seemed fair and was surprised to find just how good it is for the price. I am personally pleased with the blue (and some green) LEDs, which match all the other blue LED lights on my PC and HDD enclosures, as well as my backlit keyboard & optical mouse set. So it's not only functional and does what I need it to do, it even LOOKS GREAT with my setup. It even has its own "level meter" display in the form of LED L/R UV "bouncing needle" meters. I would not trust them for any serious or accurate level measure readings (that's what the old tape & MD decks with LED segmented meters are for), but it's a nice feature to have.My ONLY complaint is the digital EQs. Even with the separate bass & treble setting dials, these EQ presets are way too dumbed down and limited. There is a choice between : Jazz, Classical, Pop, Rock, and none (EQ off). Rock is the only one I can stand that provides any truly rich sound enhancement, however, it's a bit much with the bass & treble, causing my earbud headphones to deliver a distorted mess. Through the speakers, it sounds great - a nice mix - but I have to turn off the EQs when using my earbuds, which is a drag (I never had to change any sound settings before). The rest of the presets just seem so dull and muddled. No life to them at all. Quite disappointing.I suppose I do have one more disappointment to mention, as the earbud issue of toggling the EQs on and off revealed another small caveat : the EQ selections are entirely access-dependent on the mini remote, which due to its design, could easily be lost or damaged, and if that happens, you're skrood if you wanna change the EQs or anything else that the unit is 100% dependent on the remote for. Then pray you never have a power failure cos powering off the unit resets the audio EQ (and other custom settings) to default. Then there is the battery issue : as you might imagine, these "credit card" remotes can only use those little flat round batteries typically used in watches and PC motherboards. I am nervous about the day the remote begins to fail, indicating a dying/dead battery - or worse, as is not uncommon with the little remotes in my experience : remote device failure. These issues are what prevented it from getting a full 5-star review/rating.Apart from that, if you want a snazzy-looking receiver for your audio or A/V setup at a reasonable price, and you anticipate your needs will be satisfied with a "set it and forget it" approach that will free you from the tethers of the unpredictable and delicate mini remote, then I highly recommend this unit.

Stereo has bad sound. I have a vintage model Audio 2000,s 300 watts that will pound two 15 inch speakers. This unit wont budge the 15,s just distortion when volumes maxed. Not impressed at all. Weighs maybe 4 or 5 lbs. Most these stereos and amps, are very over rated and will not put out a 1/4 of what they claim. Do research spend the extra money get pionner yammaha kicker rockford fosgates JBL memphis ect its like trash bags if you go cheap you will be disapointed folks.

This product works great. It has the out put for a powered sub which was really important to me. The eq presets are great as well. I had an issue with the remote and they were quick to send a replacement. I give these guys 5 stars. For their product and great service. Give them a try.

First, the remote will not turn the unit on, you must do this manually by pressing the power button. The FM receiver, even with the optional dipole antennae, only manages to bring in the local in town FM station. By contrast, my car fm radio brings in well over 15 stations clearly.

Looks great but the remote is mini and doesn’t allow simple functions to prevent going to the main unit to work. USB AND Aux ports didn’t work. Radio had static even with the antenna that came with it and we are in a big city. Worst part I had to pay to return the unit that was defective. I cannot recommend this product.

Really it's an okay receiver and the SD Card slot is nice , but the volume control is funky, returns to zero volume when turned off, always have to readjust when you turn on. Some people might like that, I don't.
