I got this thinking purdy was pro grade stuff for a big job. It seems sturdy but the roller cover wont stay on the roller. Very frustrating, not recommended.

Rollers don't fit properly on this Roller cage. Even the PURDY rollers are super tight and don't go all the way on. Maybe I got a faulty Roller Cage, who knows. I've purchased this same Roller Cage in the past and haven't had such a problem.

PROSI purchased to replace a frame from the big box store where the section with the threads had loosened and the roller was no longer steady if used with an extension pole. The Purdy roller frame operates smooth giving nine inches of even paint. Just use a quality roller cover. It should last a long time if used properly and not abused. For painting performance it beats the big box store cheapies.CONSMy complaint is for a premium price the roller section is made of plastic and manufactured in China. I hope Purdy still makes their brushes in the USA. My evaluation is if the roller frame is dropped on a hard surface such as concrete the plastic can break.

Pros: easy CleanupCons: Roller Cover doesn't fit tight enough causing roller to repeatedly slip off while rolling (fixed problem by putting tape around 1 end)

I have trained around 250 painters and been painting for 43 years, and lectured for the Painting and decorating contractors of America.If you know what your are doing, this is an an excellent roller frame. It has perfect tension on every roller cover I have put on it. The covers slide on easily, and stay on without adjustment, then pops off without a problem, when you are done. If you use it improperly, you could force the cover off. Just turn it on end and bump the frame end on a table, so the cover will fully engage again. To remove the cover, do the opposite "bump" by holding a mixing stick vertically and bump the inside of the loop of the roller frame hook. The cover will drop right off, just like it is supposed to.The frame is easier to clean than an open wire frame. The bearings move freely, presuming you are not a slob that gets paint in the bearings. If you are dropping your roller in a bucket of paint, you are an amateur or hack.For cleaning, I spray the frame with a garden hose in a slop sink, and it doesn't take on water. (of course take the cover off first).If you drop it in a bucket of water, (not recommended) it will fill with water. Drill a couple of scupper holes to drain it.This is one of the best roller frames out there. Learn how to paint and you will like this roller frame, otherwise buy a cheap wire frame and throw it out after your ruin it. Different strokes for different folks. But this is a quality product from a premier paint sundries company.
