Your cart is empty.This is a solenoid repair kit for the PEB, PGA, and GB Valve Series. This kit includes the solenoid handle, the plunger/spring assembly, and an adapter assembly. These standard Rainbird 24 volt solenoids will fit virtually all modern LARGER Rainbird residential valves having round shaped solenoid when looking down on the solenoid from a point above the valve.

This is a pretty simple repair to do. Our sprinkler controller complained of a short on station 9. A quick check with a multimeter showed 9 ohms on this station and about 50 ohms on all the others. I then checked at the actual valve and still had a low reading. When the new Solenoid arrived I check the impedance with my multimeter and it read around 40-45 ohms. Screwed the old one off and screwed the new on on. Reconnected the wires and Poophtah! it worked! The controller no longer reported a short.One note; before unscrewing your old controller, be sure to turn off the water supply to that valve. (Don't ask me how I learned that lesson)

The solenoid works but the package did not contain a handle. The picture on the listing shows a handle. The description says it comes with a handle and even the instructions that came with the package says it's supposed to contain a handle. There was no handle in the package and it was an unopened package. The handle was stuck on the old solenoid and I thought I was going to have to break it to get it off. Fortunately I got it off without damage and was able to reuse it with the new solenoid.
