You will want to insert a small Allen wrench into the front and back light housing to pierce the internal sticker so the LED is more easily inserted. Once pierced, lightly move the wrench around to ream the sticker away so the LED can fully insert and clip into place. Before inserting, plug them in so you know red from white light LEDVery pleased with this simple light kit.

These are garbage do not buy! Tried to return due to defective item and they wanted to charge $6.99 to return. Not worth it and highly suggest going with a different light set up and brand.

Getting the LED’s into the clips was a tad frustrating, but other than that- these are exactly what I wanted. It adds a lot of personality to the car and looks great. Suggestion: I wish zip ties were included with the set, but that’s a minor complaint not worth losing a star.

I watched a quick YouTube video to see where traxxas suggested to route wires for their kit and knocked this out in five minutes. I like that this is purpose built— RC Lions clearly has the lengths set for TRX4M so you don’t have a birds nest of wire like generic light kits. Hard to beat at $12, the traxxas set is double that which still isn’t bad, but I have no regrets with this quick mod (it was my sons first request after getting the Defender).

This simple front/rear light kit for the TRX4m works nicely and was easy enough to install. I do wish it had longer leads to tuck all the wires away safely. I recommend you look into an extension plug for the extra length for the time being.The lights themselves just click/lock into the stock headlight assemblies. There are stickers in the front and rear light assembly that can be removed or poked through. The stickers just block some of the light and make the stock lights without LEDs look less hollow. I would remove the stickers for front and rear to make the lights brightest as seen in my photos.Pros: easy to install, brightCons: could use more wire length to tuck things away, a power switch would be a nice option
