The step was extremely easy to install and is very sturdy. The folding mechanism is well built and functional. Overall an excellent product!

This review is for model 75412-01A on a 2019 Ford F-150.The takeaway is that overall it's a great product once installed. I couldn't be happier.A few simple things could greatly improve the clarity of the instructions - like being more specific as to which nut goes on which bolt (it wasn't intuitive to me that the black nuts go on the galvanized bolts and the galvanized nuts go on the black bolts but that's really the only way it can work).Beyond that everything fit perfectly and required no drilling or modifications. The instructions state that if you have a 3rd party tow package you *might* have to replace the bumper studs. FWIW, I have a factory tow package and didn't have to replace anything.

What I liked: Parts are robust, appear to be powder coated, NO Problem starting any of the bolts into their threaded components (excellent manufacturing) and the final assembly functions & looks great on my vehicle.What could be improved: The paper instruction included within the box were not clear with what components are used for my specific application. I have a 5.5' bed and so I assembled the components per "Box 3A" . I was not able to locate a proper installation point on "the inside of the front of fender" for the support bracket. As of this writing, it is not part of the final assembly.

The quality of product seems fine. It works the way it should. The instructions were the worst I have ever seen. You can't mount it like instructions tell you because you can't reach bolts to tighten to frame. Had to take it apart and start all most from scratch. If you like being frustrated and banging your knuckles this is a great project.

product was exceptional, very good. There was a problem with the installation though. The bolt supplied to attach the brace to the frame was too large to fit the hole in the frame. I installed steps on both sides of the truck. I used a smaller bolt to make the one side work but had to drill out the hole in the frame on the second side to make it work.

Replaced my OEM F150 bed side steps with these since the OEM ones on my 2016 F150 never work these work good and are a lot slimmer so you barely notice there even there unlike gigantic turd looking OEM ones overall good product

The product was very easy to install, only difficulty was tightening up the bolts once the unit was mostly installed. Had to manipulate different socket's & wrenches to properly torque bolts. Very solid - only minor quibble is that it is hard to get it to come down, have to access from inside wheel well to open it. I installed two, one on each side and am very pleased so far!

I found the instructions to be awful. Parts are not identified well, so you’re guessing which bolts to use. I had to skip steps to assemble the likeliest pieces and then added other pieces through a process of elimination. The extra thick piece that instructions say is needed for the 6.5 foot bed were wrong. The step itself works fine without the brace that comes for only the 5.5 foot bed. I didn’t pay another 20 bucks for the brace that should come with the kit to begin with. Overall, it’s a sturdy product, but they should fire their technical writer.

I got two for each side for helping to reach up to the rack on my topper on my 2018 F-150 with the 6.5 bed. In my research it wasn't clear if this would fit on an F-150 with a 6.5 bed. AMP's fitment guide (as of November 2018) shows it fitting only F-150's with the 5.5 (short) bed. I called AMP and they said I needed the 79412-01A BedStep2 Installation Kit for 2015 Ford F-150 with 6.5' Bed. Well, I can assure you it is NOT needed and this bedstep installs fine and easy with everything you need right in the box. The steps are sturdy and strong feeling (I'm 220lbs. and they feel solid) and they are incrediably easy to deploy and retract. Absolutely satisfied with the step and my only complaint is AMP's lack of clarity on fitment.
