It works well to remove the muffler from rubber hanger in certain locations. I also used other heavy duty tongue and groove plyers for other locations.

Tried to separate rubber supports from my Dodge Ram to replace the factory muffler. Was only able to move the rubber hanger 1/4" , still wouldn't be enough to get it off. Can't get your hand(s) around the hand grips, don't waste your money.

I had 3 exhaust systems to do for myself and family members. I'm a retired engineer but the family knows I work cheap ($0) just to stay busy. This tool made removing rubber mounts a breeze. I highly recommend it. It's well built too
