Took some time to install and set up, but once it was up and running I was impressed by the quality of the image as well as the zoom. Big improvement over our old setup. Ran into some issues with the power cable but I reached out to Reolink's support and they were great, they sent over a replacement cable within a day and everything works as intended now. My wifi router is pretty far from the camera and the connection would drop occasionally so I used a network cable directly to the router to prevent disconnections and its been working without issue since. With a 256gb SD card in the camera I am able to store about 5-6 weeks of footage onboard until it overwrites and its easy to view the footage in the app or web client.

I've owned quite a few security cameras over the last 20 years and these are the best. High quality, integrates flawless and locally with Home Assistant and other smart home hubs, and have a ton of embedded features. Definitely the brand I will turn to consistently going forward.

Great outdoor camera! Day and night color are excellent. Works well with HomeAssistant, follows tracked objects using ONVIF (although zoom not available in ONVIF). Records well to onboard SD card I would recommend using a high quality 256 MB.

Positive:+ It's well built+ The video quality is excellent+ The ability to store and access video via microSD and/or network video recorder or FTP is excellent! No need for cloud-based storage or subscriptions.+ Wifi performance so far is reliable+ The app is quite good and supports customization.+ The camera continues to work when restricted from WAN (aka. the internet) and only allowed to operate on LAN.Neutral:= The iOS app requests location permissions (for no good reason). However you can decline and the app will continue to function just fine.Negative:- The devices by ReoLink are known to ping shady domains and send larger packets than needed even when cloud services are disabled. Let's be real, it's a Hong Kong (now under the CCP) surveillance company. It's going to be a genuine concern whether these devices have backdoors for nation state actors and dragnet surveillance. However, they can be isolated from WAN at your router (either through parental controls or actual WAN restriction), and that should provide a reasonable level of security for most users.- Unfortunately it still uses the outdated WPA2 security protocol for Wi-Fi networks. WPA3 was released in 2018 and any security device should be using that standard as it is more resilient against brute force attacks on your network. So if you are going to use this device, your network will need to run WPA2, which worsens user security.Overall I am impressed, especially for the price. If you are savvy enough to isolate it from WAN, it's a solid security camera and thus far a decent ecosystem to buy into.

Upgraded from night owl and OMG! I CANNOT get over the difference in absolutely every way! These are the BEST! Super easy to set up with the NVR, basically "plug and play" they automatically detect and connect when plugged into wall & ethernet for initial installation, takes about 1 minute to reconnect to NVR after the ethernet cable is disconnected. The cameras are a bit heavy but very sturdy. The come with all hardware you'll need including extended DC cord to connect if needed. The picture is crystal clear, I enjoy watching the stars on a clear night with it, the zoom is great. The auto track is a game changer for sure! The spotlight is bright, the alarm is loud as well as the microphone. The NVR is super easy to navigate as well as the playback. I bought 3 cameras and the 2T NVR. Reolink has gone way above my expectations! Highly recommend!

I bought these after my Fios system had to be upgraded and my previous cams weren’t compatible with the new 5Ghz router. I could have possibly made them work, but not without having the whole system slowed to 2Ghz. These cameras were $20 less than the ones I had that I used with my Apple HomeKit. Which these aren’t set up to work with. They do run on their own app which works just fine, so it doesn’t really make a difference to me that I open that app instead of the HomeKit app. Of the 4 cameras I have, I put SD cards in the two that are security oriented, the cameras are easy to setup and install, though I’d like the setup documentation to better explain the icons in the app which aren’t really obvious what they all mean and there is only a quick setup booklet not a user manual with them. ( you can find the info online ). The image quality on these is excellent and their user selectable smart tracking parameters make their tracking just as good. The cameras have voice prompts for setting them up which are clear. While the quick setup booklet starts you off connecting with Ethernet, if you are using Wi-Fi, you only need to be at s place with a good Wi-Fi signal. No connection via Ethernet is needed, so go with the voice prompts. Of course if you are going to connect via Ethernet, setup is pretty automatic since you don’t need to worry about passwords being directly connected. Weatherproof fittings keeps things protected for outdoor use. Mounting isn’t difficult, but think about your locations and be sure they can accept screws. They provide drywall anchors, and I used some masonry anchors for a location that required fastening to bricks. These cameras are not small, so they need to be mounted properly. They work great, and I’ll get more if I need them.
