Who knew that laptops don't like water?After a spill, the keyboard on my Dell XPS 13 started malfunctioning. After taking it apart and wiping the water from inside the laptop, I determined that the keyboard likely needed to be replaced. After identifying the specific model I had, I found this keyboard here on Amazon. Ordered it and it arrived quickly. Opened up the box and the keyboard was in a plastic bag. No documentation whatsoever.Looked nearly identical to my existing one.After taking out the old one and replacing it with this new one, I tried booting the laptop to see if the keyboard worked. Nope. Reopened everything, and checked the cables. Tried again.. Nope. Rinse, repeat another 2 times. Nope nope. Was about to give up and gave it a final go, and finally it worked!Now I have a functioning keyboard again. The keyboard feels just like the old one. The backlighting works. There are some minor differences on the keys (see attached photo -- the one on bottom is the original keyboard). The #s 4 and 5 have some additional imprints on it. Other than that, everything else seems to be the same.After several tries, I was about to give up and give this product a 3 and return it. But since it works, I chalk it up to me likely not securing a wire correctly. Everything seems to be working, so I would recommend this keyboard.
