This is a minimalist desk. It has one small shelf area. Its base is metal with top and bottom supports. It wasn't hard to assemble. Its top is a nice medium wood look. It does look nice, and it was perfect for where I needed it. This desk comes in several sizes, so if you have a small space, this would work, or if you need a larger one, there are choices for that also.

most easy to assemble.......assembly instructions very clear and most concise.....once assembled, the desk top is most sturdy .....the actual desktop is very wide and easily accompanies my 16" laptop.....HIGHLY recommended........
