It is plastic. We have it on our garden tub which doesn't get used often. Used it maybe 5 times since purchase. No complaints as of this time.

Plasticky, but works. Be careful when tightening so you don't strip the plastic threads. Other than that it is just what we needed and it's pretty.

Tubing is very hard to bend to shape when the faucets on your tub are close. otherwise works fine.
