This is a great mailbox post I have ordered more than one of these. I share a mailbox with my neighbor and then am I home down south we needed a new mailbox and post and I ordered this again. It is very sturdy and will stand up to weather for years.

There are no instructions in the box but easy to figure out. If your using a different mail box you will need to make a plate for the bottom approximately 1" thick. I used a piece of PT of plywood.Nice looking post but instructions should be included. It directs you to scan a QR code but to many to select from.

Replaced existing post with this one. Looks great. I used a large size mailbox. Only downside is that there was no adapter to mount a mailbox too. I had to make my own out of wood and screw it to the post. Still looks good, but would have been nice to have a kit to install the larger mailboxes to it.

One of the most time consuming issues I had with the install of this mailbox post is the confusion of the answered questions section. ?? are questions about other mailbox posts mixed in with this one??So, to clarify, my rating is for "Salsbury Industries, Black 4872BLK Deluxe 2 Sided in Ground Mounted Post for Two Mailboxes". This is a very, very sturdy post and looks really sharp. One concern I have is how long the "nut covers" will stay in place. They seem a little hinky. Only time will tell. I can always paint the metal nuts if the covers fall off. This mailbox post does not require a "separate" in-ground post that the "visible" post slides over. The measurement of the post from the bottom to where the mailboxes sit is 62" so this product could not really be installed by sliding over a post. I would rather this post had been of the type that slides over an in-ground post, but, it will be more sturdy since it is all one piece.Installation was also complicated by the some lacking details in the instructions. There is not a good enumerated list of "included components" but, there is a caution to make sure all parts are included before starting assembly. You have to figure out "pan head/hex flange" bolts and do the math to make sure you have all the parts. Detailed illustrations of the hardware would be nice.Instructions are also unclear/ambiguous as to when to add the gravel to the hole...?? Is it add 6" of gravel, then place post, then put in the concrete? Or is it place post, add 6 inches of gravel then add concrete? Since the "answered questions" were jumbled up I was afraid to ask this question. Trying to "do the math" I think you add gravel, then post, then concrete. All in all, I am satisfied. This looks like a post that will last longer than my house. And, it also looks nice.

This is definitely the best quality mailbox post you can buy in this price range. It was very easy to assemble and came with all the hardware to mount 2 Salsbury mailboxes. I dug a hole 24 inches deep and about 16 inches wide and added 2 50 pound bags of fast setting concrete (could have used another bag). I expect that this will be the last mailbox post I ever buy. You will not be disappointed.

We had our handyman assemble and install this, it seemed easy to assemble because he did it fast. Installing it seemes tricky because it was secured in cement. Man this thing seems sturdy! I doubt we will ever have to replace it. Yay!

I bought the Salsbury post as well as the two recommended mailboxes. The post assembled with little effort and is definitely well built. The cost is a bit higher than other options but I am satisfied with the construction and appearance. I think I have the nicest mailbox setup on the block.
