The SH 951 is a single bass pickup with two sensors. The pickup has two opposing sensors to accurately reproduce the sound of the string and body vibrations. Sensor mount between the wing and feet of the bridge.

Strangely this pickup shows up under brand "chess tools" for me. I was afraid it would be a fake, but it is a Shadow pickup.Installation is a pain, I had to take a lot off the bridge of my new bass which made me nervous. I went slow and took several hours. Once installed, the sound is really good. It does, of course, sound like a piezo, but I'm blending with a good mic, so this adds a bit of bottom to the mics nice air sound.I don't think anyone would need the Shadow with two elements, this picks up high and lows just fine.

Utilizzo questo piezo con un contrabbasso, devo dire che la risposta è molto precisa e, se utilizzato con un buon amplificatore, anche il suono risulta molto profondo.Utilissimo in occasioni live all'aperto.Consigliato.

So I’m the biggest fan on the Underwood pickup, but it broke.. I decided that I’ll try k&k and shadow. This shadow has an identical sound to my favorite Underwood.. if not, this one is better.. the Underwood has two piezos and that causes the high strings to be louder and with just one transducer, you can focus it on the low end. It’ll be better if they had a better way to attach it to the bass. The Underwood has a better way to attach.UPDATE: REGISTER the pickup right after purchase because I’ve bought three of these and they all keep malfunctioning from the jack.

Since there are no reviews yet, I'll throw myself on the grenade. My upright bass pickup (Clef Revolution Solo II) broke after an accident with the bridge and I needed one right away for gigs this past weekend. I was given a link to the SH-951 one by a friend with the assurance that it was good and not too expensive. I got it shipped overnight for free with Amazon Prime, too. Turns out to be pretty good, indeed. It's a little midrange heavy with my bass, an Upton Hawkes plywood model, but it responds well to EQ and got a nice sound overall. Installing it was a breeze, although I had to shim it with a sax reed to get it tight in the bridge wing, as it has to be installed pretty snug to sound good. The only part I don't like is attaching the jack to the tailpiece with velcro. It comes loose and slips out of the velcro, and I ended up having to wrap a piece of gaffer tape around it and the tailpiece to hold it steady. I suppose I could rig some other way to hold it securely, but I was pressed for time and went with the tape. I plan on getting a new Rev Solo, but I'll be keeping this one as a backup...I'll just do something else about the jack. But despite preferring the Rev Solo, I can think of a lot of pickups I've tried that cost a lot more than the SH-951 and aren't as good. For the money, you can't beat it.
