From the Manufacturer

Shur-Line invented the first paint roller with a removable cover in 1945 and our-years of experience have paved the way for do-it-yourselfers and professional painters to achieve flawless paint application. Shur-Line's patented technologies continue to set the standard for quality paint rollers. Shur-Line invented the advanced technology of our thermo-bond process in which the roller cover fabric is thermally fused to the core. This eliminates adhesive failure associated with traditional cardboard and pvc plastic cores. Thermo-bond cores are tough and impervious to paint solvents and water. This results in roller covers that are virtually indestructible and roll smoothly every time. Shur-Line's proprietary fabrics use the proper fiber crimping for optimum painting performance. Knit fabric rollers can be used for the majority of jobs and rollers made with woven fabrics provide the smoothest finish for specialized applications. All Shur-Line rollers undergo an advanced finishing process that results in low linting and leaves a uniform paint finish. This exciting innovation provides smoother coverage, faster clean up, paint sticking to the wall and not to the roller.

Love the foam on this roller! It makes painting look so good! It glides on so well and has full coverage. No need to go back for over it again and again. Easy to use, easy to clean, great material!

I used this to paint desk shelves. Some of the shelves didn’t come out, and I had to paint them with not much room in between each shelf. This is the perfect item for that job.

It was cheap, easy to clean, and feels more than sturdy enough for the price. It left a good texture on a smooth surface.Tip: Don't press down too hard while you're using it or you run the risk of skidding the roller instead of letting it roll.

I bought this so I could paint my walls. I would recommend this. Mine didn't have any issues. I also used good paint. I didn't have a problem with mine falling apart or leaving anything on the walls. I have used this to paint my entire room and it's going to paint my kitchen.

First off, I'm not posting this as a painter. I got this after reading a Pinterest post to apply sunblock to my back easily! I think it works well, but it does soak in some of the sunblock. Just use some soap on it and rinse in warm water to get the "like new" feel back! The material is a soft, cushy foam and the handle makes it very easy to use. I think I would be happy as a painter as well.

I used this with the Rustoleum Tub & Tile refinishing kit. While it worked for applying the product smoothly I found the foam rollers would disintegrate after about 20 minutes of use. If you are planning on using this for any kind of epoxy make sure to buy plenty of refills!I had a few other projects I used it for and it worked great for regular paint work. I repainted my bathroom and this was a lifesaver when I had to get tough to reach areas like behind the toilet.

I bought this roller to repaint my cabinets. I did not have the same issue as other users where the foam disintegrates. My issue was that the rollers don't roll smoothly. If you put most of your pressure toward the side where the metal axle goes in, the roller just slides. Even if you spread pressure equally across the roller, it will occasionally just slide across the surface of the object you're painting. The only way I could get good luck painting smoothly was to put more pressure on the tip of the foam than on the end closer the handle. Since the actual bushing is an insert to the foam roller attachment itself, I'd hoped it would change when I changed rollers. Not so. I purchased the case of mini roller refills, model number 03715C, Shur-Line 4-inch Cut Case Foam Mini Roller Refills, and every one I used had the same issue. They did leave a nice finish, but it took some getting used to to get the combination of pressure and paint saturation correct.Edit 2/2/2015:Just noting that my experience with this roller was using Behr Premium Plus Ultra water-based enamel paint. Perhaps the users that had trouble with disintegration were using alkyd or oil based paints and there is some sort of reaction with the solvents that causes the roller to fall apart.

Used this recently to paint my bathroom and I purchased it with the 10 pack of pads because I planned on using it for doors and trim but I used 5 of them just doing my bathroom. I'm not a professional painter but this is my third house I have painted entirely by myself and I couldn't believe how easily these fell apart! The tips kept coming off, sometimes after painting a few square feet. Because it was cracking it also left little pieces of the pads in my paint before I noticed so I had to go back and scrape them out. Roller held up fine.

I love this roller. I'm a crafter and I can use this roller for different things. I purchased it because I wanted to glue several posters to foam board and the roller would help me get rid of air bubbles. But I am also using it for scrapbooking and card-making. It helps me glue photos and embellishments. It would work great with wallpaper borders. Good quality and handy. Well worth the money. It comes with 1 white foam roller but no refills.
