Fits the R8 perfectly. The threaded holes all around have proven very useful. It is solid too. I'm not concerned about dropping it (the body at least).

This cage is solid, well-built, and affordable, making it a great budget-friendly option. However, the Arri-style mount on the left side is a complete design failure. Instead of using a standard 3/8"-16 Arri mount with anti-rotation pins, Sirui chose to use a 1/4"-20 screw hole while keeping the Arri anti-rotation pattern. This makes it incompatible with many standard Arri-style accessories, including Sirui’s own AM-SHS side handle.To make things worse, the AM-SHS handle does have an alternative mounting option with two 1/4"-20 screws—but Sirui somehow chose an 18mm spacing on the handle while the cage has 20mm spacing. This means you can't even use those screw holes without an adapter or modification.Ironically, the right side of the cage has a proper 3/8"-16 Arri mount, so why mix standards and create unnecessary compatibility issues? If you need true Arri-style mounts for accessories, this cage will likely frustrate you. Otherwise, it’s a decent and affordable option.

Access to the NATO rail is blocked by the top portion of the cage. Poor design.

This is a perfect cage for any rig!The camera that I have does not have a cage made for it, so I ended up using this and it works just as well!Honestly, its light weight but feels super sturdy

This camera cage is excellent and is everything I want in a high-quality cage. The fit is outstanding. The entire piece of metal looks like it has been machined out of one block. The cage holes are placed perfectly, making setting up accessories simple. I will update this review if anything significant occurs, but I can already tell this cage will outlast the camera within it. I am very excited to start getting some accessories.

This is a great fit for the Canon R50, and is the first cage I have gotten for a DSLR or Mirrorless camera.The Fit:This is probably the most important thing to me when it comes to the cage. What good are "features" if the fit is poor? In addition to the screw at the bottom, there are to connection points which secure to the existing camera strap points. Even if the bottom screw somehow came out, this cage will not come off. All these mount points lined up perfectly. No wedging or "making it work" for me with my R50. IT also slid right in to the mount on my Feiyutech gimbal.The Design:I do like the design of this. I wasn't sure how I would like the part the goes up over the setting dial on the trigger side. Some others show the metal mount connecting in front of the trigger. After use... it feels great. That metal part by where my trigger finger is NEVER gets in the way. Fantastic! I can only imagine how hard that was to design on such a tiny little camera.Additionally, access to the battery compartment is a breeze, no interference here.Two thing I think I'd like (though it's hard to say)1. A slightly bigger grip on the handle/trigger side. This is a deficiency in the R50 as is, but maybe I can get a grip to connect.2. The rail to extend further to the right hand side. This would give even great flexibility when mount to an Arca style receiver. You can see in the photo it stops short, probably to allow better access to opening the LCD.All of the other mount points on the cage work as expected, and there is a good variety of sizes to choose from. I like the cold shoe mount off to one side. This is my first camera product from Sirui, and I look forward to exploring what other designs/products they have!
