The SA fishing reel feature is essentially a second drag system that is designed to allow the reel to free spool with very limited pressure.It’s engaged when baits are deployed and rods are set. Fish can take baits feeling little to no resistance at all.

This provides hook setting benefits, as the fish will hold a bait far longer, as they’re not spooked by unnatural resistance.When the angler is confident it’s time to set the hooks, a turn of the handle or the flick of a lever disengages the Baitrunner feature, reverting the reel to its main drag system.This system delivers a seamless transition from free spool to the main drag, preventing issues that are common when free spooling with a standard spin reel.

Would have given 5 stars for an honest description, drag washers are felt not carbon fiber, but I honestly didn't expect carbon fiber for the price. That being said the reel seems solid where it counts and could last a couple years. Time will tell.

Functionality is amazing being able to have 2 seperate drag systems, the durability seems solid enough to last a few years. It reels rather smoothly for such a cheap reel overall I think it's great. I've flipped the the bait runner a few times nothing has snapped yet and both seem to work, I've even had a carp take off with the bait and it flipped back no issues even under a load it reeled just fine and works all the same definitely will be ordering more from this company. If you are targeting Carp and Catfish this reel should definitely perform flawlessly

These paired with a ugly stick gx2 make a very nice budget catfish setup. They match perfectly too. I added some grease to the reel and it seems very nice for the money. Still need to put it to the test but i cant see why it wont be a solid unit.

I originally wrote that this is a great reel for catfishing, but these days that actually means something else (haha). Anyway, this is a great reel for fishing for moderate sized catfish. No, it probably can't handle monster blues and flatheads, but can definitely handle the 7-10lb channels and whites that I typically see in my neighborhood lakes/ponds. The baitrunner feature is great for using a live bluegill/float, and letting it do its thing while I then look for bass. I've also caught 6-7lb bass on this with the same live bluegill bait. I paired it with a Shimano FX 7' MH fast action fiberglass rod and it works well. It's a rod I already had and I didn't feel the need to buy a newer expensive rod for such an inexpensive reel.
