Got this for my Troy-Bilt when the starter mechanism completely failed and all the plastic wore off this is easier than just buying the starter piece that way you just bolted and replace it it's a direct fit and works fantastic highly recommended

Fits and much less expensive than the part called for in the TB575SS drawing (753-05262). That part is around $60. My clutch burned up and melted my starter housing. I had to replace this and the clutch. The clutch in the drawing is also overpriced. Part number 753-06281 is an exact replacement clutch assembly, includes the housing and clutch, and is much cheaper than the part #s called out in the drawing.

What's to say? I replaced the old unit which was slipping due to wear. The trimmer starts much more easily than before I replaced it. You have to remove a lot of parts to get to this part. 1) Remove the throttle Housing assembly. 2) Remove the drive shaft and housing. 3) remove the clutch cover 4) remove the clutch assembly and 5) remove this piece (the starter housing assembly). Then put it back on in reverse. I'm a DYI'er so it's what I do. Have fun!
