I was really hoping these would be as good as they showed and I'm happy to say they are!! They're very soft. I have a couple of natural squirrel hair brushes and these feel so much like it, I don't think I could tell the difference if I was tested by the way they feel or how they paint. They have nice sharp tips, haven't shed, and they hold a lot of water. It comes with 5 brushes from a size 2 to 10. I'm also happy to see that they're sized like most in the industry. Sometimes I'll buy brushes that will say size 8, but it's more like a 12/14. These look about right. (It would be nice if they had an industry standard so they'd all be sized the same, but until then...🤷🏼♀️) These are comfortable to hold and I love the color! It happens to be my favorite color!☺️ These are a good buy at $22.99 (at the time of this review - 3/6/25). I hope they stay sharp and hold their tips well. Should they start shedding or loosing the tips, I'll update this review to let you know. Otherwise, these are great brushes at a fantastic price!

I used these to do calligraphy, and it came out beautifully! While I don't necessary believe that would work as solely for that, it was good for a one-off when I needed it for that. I really enjoyed the feel of them, and that I *could* use the tip in that manner.I like that this set comes in so many sizes, and they're good quality tips. I was able to rinse mine out and it looked brand new (I was using a VERY black ink). Love that you can use this for watercolor, acrylic and gouache painting AND for craft or model painting. I often paint resin holiday figurines and need the ability to use and reuse brushes for this. Otherwise it just gets too pricey!I was happy with the feel of the brushes, the ease of use and cleaning them without trauma to the brushes, and the price for how many you get and their quality. HIGHLY recommend this set!

I am extremely impressed with this set of five Longyinzhai Synthetic Squirrel Hair Round brushes! I have found a new favorite brand of brush that is a must have supply for my daily art creation! I use these brushes with watercolor and gouache paint. This set comes with sizes 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 in round brushes with very pretty teal colored wooden handles. I do not own or use real squirrel hair brushes, so I can not compare these to real squirrel hair. I do however use a more expensive set of synthetic squirrel brushes that I compared these brushes to. I compared the size of the brushes, and the sizes are very similar to the standard size that most expensive popular brands use for brushes. The Longyinzhai synthetic squirrel hair brushes felt very similar to the expensive set, and they felt just as nice and smooth when I painted with them. The main difference between the two is that the Longyinzhai brushes have a longer, sharper tip that is better for details and fine lines, and the expensive brand can hold a little more paint. However, for the price, these Longyinzhai brushes are on par with the expensive synthetic squirrel brand! For the current price of this set of five Longyinzhai brushes, (about $13 USD), I can only purchase ONE brush in the expensive brand, even though they feel and paint very similarly. This set of brushes is great quality and a great value! These would be great for artists of all experience levels! I definitely recommend these brushes to watercolor and gouache artists!

I ordered this set of brushes for my daughter, who is passionate about painting. She has experience using natural squirrel hair brushes, so I was curious to see how these synthetic ones would compare. To my surprise, she found them very similar in quality and softness, even though they aren’t significantly cheaper than natural brushes. Since I’m not an artist myself, I rely on her expertise, and she assured me that these brushes meet her expectations.As soon as she got them, she started working on a portrait of our one-year-old Morkie. You can see the final result in one of my photos, though I must admit I couldn’t capture the exact pose of our furry model. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take a video or photos of the painting process—my daughter is quite particular about her work and never shares it before it’s finished.The brushes feel well-made, with comfortable birch wood handles that provide a stable grip. The synthetic squirrel bristles hold liquid well, offering a smooth painting experience without shedding. Based on my daughter’s feedback and the results I’ve seen, I’m giving this set a well-deserved five stars.

This is a nice set of synthetic brushes! I would say they're good as beginner and intermediate brushes as they are sturdy, have a nice snap to them, and keep their shape fairly well. I used them with gouache paint and they're okay with that, but I think I'm going to use them with acrylics as I generally use softer brushes for watercolor.So far my only complaint is that the smallest brush (that I used the most) did shed a few fibers and needed a trim after a few sessions. Nothing horrible like the getting a cheap set of kids brushes at the big box store, but just enough to be annoying. I also have had issues with the second largest brush keeping it's point even though I clean and care for my brushes pretty well.But overall this is a nice set of brushes!
