I bought this and tested it by putting it in boiling water. When I first put it in I found that the thermometer read that water boiled at 300C. Then I noticed that the whole glass thermometer can slide back and forth in the brackets. I slid the thermometer as far to the left as I could to have it line up with 100C in boiling water. The problem is that it's too short and you can't line it up with the calibration temperature. The number alignment is off my 30C. I really wanted this type but Taylor didn't do quality control on this one. The numbers need to be printed about 3mm to the right of their current location or the glass tube needs to be longer so I can slide it into the correct position.

We tried a few different types of Oven thermometers at the same time while of oven technician was out (he had the professional temp sensor, connected to a box) and this one was the most accurate and quickest to read the temp. The other 2 we tried were the- Rubbermaid Refrigerator/ Freezer Thermometer. and the- CDN 09502000954 ProAccurate Oven Thermometer, 1 EA, Silverthe Taylor 5921N Pro Series was the best of the 3!
