We have a loft style attic with no direct steps, stairs or ladder access. It opens to a space above our bedroom and we have to lug out a heavy ladder every time we need to get up there. This light, telescoping ladder has been a godsend. Now, instead of having our heavy aluminum ladder sitting on the edge of the attic and having to reach up and carefully lifting it over the edge and carrying it down to floor level, we can simply take this very light ladder, open it up and telescope it to the loft’s edge.We ordered the 10.5 foot (A Button) option and it helps us to easily reach the attic and to easily and conveniently store it behind the bedroom door when not in use. Since it weighs only about 20 and a half pounds and shrinks down to just 36 inches tall from the floor to the top of the hooks, it is easy to carry and to store away.It is easy to open and close the ladder when needed. But the step-by-step instructions are not necessarily clear and easy to follow. I suggest reading the directions included on the product page carefully – I don’t want to try to explain them here because I don’t want to make any tiny mistake that might lead to confusion. Just be aware that if you follow the instructions and go step by step sliding the buttons in the proper order it will be very easy to open and telescope or to close the ladder for storage. Just be aware that if you order an “A” button option, as did I, you only have the buttons on the bottom rung to operate. Start opening the ladder from the bottom up to ensure that every rung locks. You will see the orange snaps on the bottom of each run open to show that it is locked. The ladder is equipped with a stabilizer bar, two black rubber safety “shoes, and two hard rubber stabilizing triangles at the bottom to prevent slipping on wood or tile floors. There is also a strap handle that makes it easy to carry. There is a sturdy strap that goes around the steps to keep them in place for storage. Be aware that neither the shoes nor the triangles will slide on easily. I suppose to keep them in place for safety’s sake they must be practically immovable when in place. I had to resort to pounding them into place with a rubber mallet. I didn’t mind, though because it’s better to be safe than sorry. The hooks at the top provide stability and make climbing as safe as possible. What I have done to add extra stability is to put a straight metal bar just beyond the edge of the attic for the hooks to catch on to. When I want to access the attic I telescope the ladder to the proper height and I make sure that the hooks sit firmly behind the metal bar. This keeps the ladder securely in place and makes it even safer than just using the ladder by itself. For me, this ladder has taken a painstaking chore and turned it into a very simple minor task. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs a safe and reliable ladder and who needs to store it in a compact location.

I like the ladder it's a substantial product and I feel confident using it for my work around the house. I gave it four stars because it was missing instructions to add the bottom stabilizer. And after we had difficulty adding the feet to the stabilizer I read someone had used hot water in a bowl to soften the feet first for about 2 to 3 minutes and then add them to the stabilizer this would have been helpful. We eventually got the feet on and were able to add the stabilizer to the bottom of the ladder.

It's very lightweight, super easy to move and store. I like that it uses a clip instead of Velcro which will eventually loose it's fastening ability, so I'm but worried about it coming undone when I'm moving it. The strap is also adjustable. You do have to assemble it yourself, which isn't a lot to do but getting the orange stabilizers on must be very exact, it's a tight fit so for sure do but out them on incorrectly. I'm actually not really sure I understand the self assembly choice because it doesn't change the form factor that much, I mean it does a little, just seemed it would've been better from a user perspective not to have to do those few steps. The ladder collapses nearly on its own thanks to the tabs being on the bottom of each step except for the bottom step, a cleaver design that allows it to smoothly and easily collapse. The downside is that you have to have it fully extended to use it otherwise it will collapse, meaning you cannot extend to only what you need, thus very much limiting it's usefulness (for me) since it's not an A frame, you have to have the space for it and make sure it gives the correct angle. Technically I could put something under a step to keep it from collapsing but that would bit be safe and I don't trust that idea.

We already own an 8' telescoping ladder & it's a real lifesaver for doing my job (mobile network services) so I decided to get this longer ladder (13.5' OAL) to safely reach ceilings & rooftops.Every part of this ladder was made with a working person's needs considered. The latches for the steps toggle automatically when telescoping or collapsing this ladder - you can't use it incorrectly! Safety is paramount when I'm on a customer premises...not just my safety but the safety of my client. This thing supports my weight and anything else I can carry (up to 150 kg/330.6 pounds)The hooks at the top are optional. They are easily attached or removed by sliding a latch (see photo) as with all the latches on thus ladder, everything is a true & tight tolerance fit. It's a ladder I can trust! The urethane feet (see photo); The user must assemble the bottom cross member to the base of the ladder using 2 each 1/4" diameter bolts & nuts. Don't worry, wrenches are included. It's all very straightforward except the task of putting those urethane feet onto the cross member. You cannot install these without softening them. The orange feet are much tougher than the two outer black feet. Impossible to slide them on, as they are...so i solved the issue this way...I took a 1 liter bowl of 130° F water and put the orange feet & black feet into it for about 2 minutes to 'loosen them up' so they could be slid onto the crossmember. Having done this, assembly was really easy. Don't try to force them on or you will likely injure yourself on the edge of the cross member. Safety first!Having addressed that issue, everything else about the ladder is excellent. The telescoping tubes fit nice & tight within each other. The ladder feels very secure. It's a LOT stiffer than my 8' telescoping ladder and I'm sure glad that the manufacturer made the tolerances as tight as they did. I weigh in at 174 pounds, this thing can support my weight very easily. A coworker in the +200 pound range also used this ladder and was really surprised that it felt so secure. This is a nice ladder, folks! The quality is awesome and the compact size (when retracted) makes for easy transportation. The weight of this ladder is only 24.23 pounds (with the hooks attached) so obviously it's easy to carry, deploy and use.The price point is amazing as well - decent ladders aren't cheap. If you're a trades-person or homeowner, this ladder deserves a closer look. It's the real deal. Two thumbs up for an excellent work accessory that I couldn't do my job without!
