These strings play differently from any other string I've tried. Of course, all strings play a little differently from one another, but these *really* are different: maybe more clear and forceful of tone, yes that's it. TI claim better, more precise pitch, and I think it's not only true, it's a really good pitch (hehe). Seriously, these strings are great for everything except price -- for that money you'd think they were made of gold. Still, if you can afford them, there's nothing else like them, really. I used to swear by NYXLs, then Elixirs -- both which are also great and a whole lot cheaper -- but these just have a little extra something that makes up a little for my mediocre playing.I'm not sure they last longer than other strings, maybe they do, maybe they don't, but for what they cost they are staying on my bass as long as possible. They do feel good under the fingers. Very solid -- some would say stiff -- but I choose to say solid, making me feel more confident, more solid, when I play. I won't even deduct a star for price because, if you can afford them, they really are something special.

These strings sound and play very well. They also have a long life, except for the D string in my set, which broke by the bridge within a week of putting the strings on. Probably just a bad string, but at the price it was kind of a surprise. The other strings kept a great sound for a long time though.

These are hands down the best bass strings you can get. They sound perfect, with a rich and balanced tone, like perfectly broken in strings, and they hold that sound forever. They also feel great and are much easier to play than roto-sounds or d’addarios. Took me years to find these, and now I won’t use anything else.

At first I thought they were similar to Roto 66 and then NYXL strings... but after a couple weeks I realized that these strings weren't following the same "settle in" patterns of the other strings. On my P-bass, they have remained brighter and vibrant and held the round low end I associate with a fresh set of strings. They bring a tightness to my jazz bass which can get a bit boomy with other round wounds. Furthermore, they have remained more balanced, string to string, over the set without a string "popping" or dying out the way I've seen individual strings do within a set. I can see that I won't be changing my strings as often with the hopes that the new set has no outliers. These are an example of money well spent and I hope to outfit my other basses with them to see if the Power Bass mojo brings something new to the table on them as well.

These strings sonically compare to a Rotosound or DR roundwound product. They have a strong fundamental and a representation of the "wirey" overtones of the brighter strings. I use them on a Specter bass with EMG HZ pickups. In this set-up, they give a smoother response throughout the frequency range than many other strings I've tried. For feel, these have a unique quality - stiff yet springy. They feel like they should take more work than they do, and they are actually pretty easy on the plucking hand. The fretting hand may find a bit of fatigue around the 1st position frets, but this effect diminishes rapidly as you get away from the nut.Overall, in many ways they are my favorite string set.

I've been playing bass for a while now, and I have a few basses, and have gone through several sets of strings. I've always spent about $20 to $40 for a new set of strings, be it round or flat wounds, name your make. On a whim, I decided to try out the Thomastik Infeld Power Bass strings for my Aerodyne, which needed new strings any way. These strings sound and play beautifully. The set up coming from DR black beauties did require a slight truss rod adjustment. The difference in tone, feel... ALL unbelievably better. Hold a tune well 'new', BONUS!. I'd recommend them. It's hard to part with the extra $$$, but the strings will justify that expense. They have for me.

First point: I don't write online reviews. These strings are so great that I had to write one. Second point: I was a DR user for life until i decided to give these a try. After pulling them out of of the packaging, I immediately noticed that these are by far the heaviest strings i have ever held. I bet twice as much steel is used to make these than any other string out there. The ends of the strings have a rubbery coating that makes them stay in place when wrapped around the tuning keys better than most strings. When I finished stringing my USA Jazz bass, I first played non amplified. I was blown away by the sustain and clarity of each note. When I plugged the guitar into the amp, I heard detail and crispness that I never heard before. They're certainly expensive but worth every penny.
