I picked up this timing tool kit for a recent engine job, and I have to say, it made the process so much smoother.The tools are well made, solid, and fit perfectly. No more struggling with makeshift solutions in the shop, and everything I needed was right in the kit.It comes in a nice plastic case which is sturdy and keeps everything organized. It’s a huge plus.If you’re working on timing related repairs, this is definitely a great investment. It saved me time and frustration, and I’d recommend it to anyone who needs a reliable set of timing tools.

In the interest of full disclosure, as a trusted and unbiased Amazon reviewer, I was able to request this product free of charge, except for having to pay tax on the fair market value of the item.This is a very sturdy solid tool that fits cleanly in a nice storage box. Unfortunately, this is one of those rare things that I have to review before actually using. I don't have any timing belts to change, or covers to replace right now and it will probably be a while before I do.The tool has pronged adapters which fit at the camshafts at the back of the engine. The bolts are used to screw the tool into the backs of the camshafts. The extensions are there in case you need the room in which case you would use the longer bolts. Don't pay too much attention to the diagram in the instructions - you may get confused in the use of the longer bolts. In order to use this tool you will have to remove the distributor and the cam angle sensor and maybe some hoses - I am looking at a 1998 Volvo s70.If you have a Volvo s70 (may only be certain years) there is a much simpler tool that works from the front to lock the cams.This tool has a rotating hook which may lock onto some engine blocks but I'm not sure if you need this. In theory when you lock both halves of the tool together you should get the right alignment of the camshafts. There is also a tool for locking the crankshaft which requires removal of the starter.It's been a while since I've changed a timing belt on a Volvo so I can't say how useful this tool is. As far as I can remember, I removed the bottom cover of the crankshaft pulley and marked the position of the crankshaft and camshafts. Subsequently I removed the tensioner and idler pulley and then removed the belt. I then installed the new belt, tensioner and idler pulley. I was able to wiggle out the belt w/o having to remove any pulleys. The camshaft pulleys move slightly when you remove the belt - you need to make note of this when you install the new belt so they move back to their correct position. This may take a bit of trial and error. So with this tool you wouldn't have this issue. Honestly, if I knew I had to remove all this extra stuff to use this tool, I wouldn't have bothered with it.Using the tool may be more accurate then the way I have done things in the past and I'm sure Volvo uses some kind of tool that has the same function when they are repairing engines.

This is a great collection of tools, and well worth having if you own a Volvo you do maintenance on yourself. Volvo engines are finicky things that require specific tools unless you want to make life very difficult for yourself. Buying these tools from a dealership is more expensive, and at least in our area, out of stock. This is very reasonably priced and even comes in a plastic case for easy storage when not in use. The tools are well made and precisely cast. Trying a few against the engine, they fit nicely and will make working on the camshaft easy. The solid build gives you peace of mind this should last the entire lifetime of your Volvo probably.

As a professional automotive technician who specializes in European vehicles, I have to say I am thoroughly impressed with this Reywoo timing kit. Late model vehicles require many specialized tools, especially for timing chain service and until recently you were at the mercy of OEM or high priced aftermarket brands to purchase the correct tools.This kit is not as impressive from the outside as it is on the inside. The tools come housed inside of a mid quality, red plastic case with plastic latches. The quality of the case is lacking but it serves it's purpose. Each piece in the tool set seems to be manufactured well. This is a heavy kit. All of the parts are nicely machined and finished. The hardware has clean and well cut threads as well as being made of good grade material. The entire tool kit is very similar to the factory pieces and seems every bit as nice as kits that cost many times more than this one.Although I have not actually used this kit on an engine yet I think initial quality is great. Some cheaper timing tool sets I have used in the past were decent for single use but didn't appear that they would hold up to repeated use. I am confident that this kit can be trusted for multiple use even in a shop environment as the quality is very high. If you are a technician or an avid automotive repair DIYer, this kit would be an excellent choice. 5 stars for quality and value.

I recently used the 2.0T Camshaft Retaining Tool Kit, and I’m thoroughly impressed. The kit includes everything needed—camshaft locking tool, crankshaft sprocket puller, seal installation tool, and more. Each tool fit perfectly, making the job smoother and faster. The camshaft alignment tool ensured precise engine alignment, and the heavy-duty steel construction feels incredibly durable.
