Even Toyota websites fitment for this part is all wrong. This canister only fits to 03-04 Toyota Matrix and Corolla. You can easily compare to pictures with your old part.

I replaced the gas cap and the purge valve, and they did not clear the code. I did a little more research which suggested that the Vapor Canister may be the problem. After replacing the Vapor Canister and completing a drive cycle the code did not return.

if you have a code reader that can clear codes from your can then you can turn off the check engine light and it will stay off if this was the part you actually needed. but if not, your car will have to go through a drive cycle before the check engine light turns off after installing this part. the line from the gas tank can be hard to install. It's not because of the clip, it's probably because of the rubber o ring inside the line. Just lube the tip with some wool wax or something and it will insert in to the o ring easily.

I am glad I purchased the whole device, instead of a sensor that was already installed on this piece. Toyota original part. I hope it lasts the 16 years like original. this will be the last time I will be under the back end of the Corolla for emissions again.
