A quick note before I get into my review. This is a "Gen II" of this product, not a "Gen II Night Vision," which may be unclear by looking at the listing's title. I've had a Gen II NV scope before, and in every respect I can think of this is better than the one I had.There's a lot to like about this, and a few things which could be improved. Almost everything I'd have a complaint about are firmware related, so I really hope a few of these are addressed. I'll go through the things I like in particular first, and address my hopes for the future afterwards.The build quality seems top notch. The night vision can easily see more than my eyes can, even without the illuminator on. It's not at the level of Gen III night vision, but it's far superior to Gen II. The illuminator is very bright. I don't have a maximum range on it, but it's quite impressive. The battery is a standard 18650, meaning it's not only replaceable but readily available and very easy to keep several charged and on standby. That said, the battery does seem to last a good while and is easy to recharge while in the scope. The charging port is also a data port, allowing transfer of images and videos, as well as using the scope as a camera. I really love all these features.A neutral note about the hardware would be that the camera's focus is manual. Not a big deal, but you do need to use a focus ring to focus the camera. Also if you want to have any backup iron sights, you'll need to mount them on offset mounts. Again not really bad, but something to know.On to the firmware. It's not awful, but there are a few things which bother me quite a bit. I'll discuss each one individually.While there are several options for different reticles, they are all thick (4-5 pixels) and bright, and red is the only option. Given that it's all firmware, more reticle options would be very welcomed. An option for different colors, brightness, reticle transparency, reticles with thinner lines/dots, and possibly even day/night settings would be great. This seems like something that should be so easy to have in the firmware that I'm really not sure why it's not already there.I also did encounter a firmware crash when I attempted to access the images stored on the scope when there weren't in fact any images stored. Only way out was to reboot the scope.My next two complaints involve only long distance shooting. These things could be added to the firmware easily for the additional functionality:The reticle simulates second focal plane. No matter what the magnification is, the reticle size stays the same on the screen. Given that there are no elevation or windage turrets, having an option for a reticle which could help with bullet drop and then changes size to adjust for magnification, simulating a first focal plane reticle, seems like a very easy addition to firmware. It just seems like this would be a simple thing to add for additional functionality.Zeroing in the scope isn't difficult. You have to be in a "zeroing" mode, and use the arrows on the buttons to make the adjustments. That's no problem. The issue is that after zeroing, there's no way to lock in your new zero to make it the new "0,0" adjustment. This again only really applies to longer range shooting, but being able to lock in a new "zero" and then use the arrows in the normal mode to adjust from there for elevation and windage would be very similar to using turrets- and then you can just go back to your zero point. I am really unsure why this isn't already in the firmware, as it would be incredibly easy to add. Personally, I would prefer the arrows being used for elevation and windage adjustments off of zero rather than for zoom by default.So I have almost no issues at all with the hardware. It's just the firmware which I think could easily have more functionality added to counter a couple of the shortcomings. As-is, if you're looking for something that's going to be used for short to medium range, especially something like hog shoots, I don't think you're really going to go wrong with this even as-is. If a firmware release ever does come out which fixes any of my complaints, I'll update my review.

This works great. I am able to see across my field in the dark. Screen is bright and seems to have pretty good resolution.

This scope is awesome. It’s my first experience with an IR scope, so I’ll base my experience on that. Comes with two batteries, an 32GB micro SD card, and some solid mounting hardware.PROS: extremely well built, easy to use, and decent battery life. Charges very fast as well.CONS: manual focus only, digital zoom doesn’t go that far (50 yards is really max), and the UI is a bit clunky.I love that it came with a proper SD card and is ready to roll out of the box. The buttons take a minute to get used to. Practice and memorize the controls before you hit the darkness. You won’t be able to see what they do when you’re in the field unless you turn a light on.

All around great product at an inexpensive price! Recommend completely!

This was mounted on an M-16 and works so well. Easy to use and follow instructions. Image quality is very good. Its made of quality materials and love the night vision aspect of it also. Great for hunting hogs at night,

I have not put this through all the paces yet but I can report on quite a bit.The build quality is superb. I have zero problems with the construction. It came very well packaged with no damage. The box itself is worth keeping for storage.It is lightweight and really does not add anything significant to the overall heft. It also looks really nice too. Sleek and not bulky.It is easy to attached the scope and operate the basic functions. The charge lasts a good while too.For the price, I could not do any better than this. Excellent value.I am still running it through stages at the range so I will get back on the accuracy. So far, I have had no problems with the accuracy.
