Item Description Designed to lock the cam and crank shafts in position to allow the removal and replacement of the timing chain fitted to the Vauxhall/Opel twin Cam engines below.
Removal of the timing chain will require the removal of the sump. Ensure the engine is at TDC No 1 cylinder. Ensure the chain tensioner is fully retracted and held in the retracted position using a suitable pin.
Remove the crankshaft pulley using an appropriate pulley holding tool.

This is a must have tool for timing your BMW, it's easy to use ,comes in a case ,it as everything you need to time not only one BMW but three different engines you can do with this ,I'd recommend it even though it's price was high

The kit I purchased was for GM/Chevy 1.4 turbo ecotec found in Chevy Cruze, sonic and Trax maybe others. It's a decent kit especially for being one of the cheaper sets, everything is there to set the timing and hold everything in place.

I used this on a 2013 chevy cruze with the 1.4 ecotech turbo motor and the only problem i really had with it was the tool for aligning the exciter wheels would hit on the back of the timing cover at the top were the bolts for the vvt actuators came through and stopped the tool from sitting flat and even putting the bolts in so after some machining with a die grinder at the red circles i got it to fit.

It did work for what i needed it for. I had to remove the timing chain to replace the rear timing gasket on a sonic turbo. Honestly it does feel sturdy and it worked good. It's simple to use once you read the repair procedire. It doesn't necessarily feel cheap like some people say.

Was having all sorts of issues with the cars engine performance. Sometimes the engine sounded like it was going to fall apart. This timing tool kit was the ticket to eliminating the noises coming from under the hood. This was an saving tool kit. The cost was well worth the effort.

Very well made kit and a cheaper alternative to expensive dealer tools. Works fine so far and used it on two jobs so far tho.
