The socket /tool is to big to use to install the replacement for the water heater?.. How do u screw this up, you sent both in 1 package!

Bought this to fix my rv hot water heater and it will probably work when I can get the old one out. I have changed these before, and never had a problem, but the Chinese have changed the nut size on these so that the wrench size they provide does not fit the old heat unit so I have to get another size socket to remove the old one and their tool to install the new one…..why couldn’t they keep the sizing consistent?
