About this item

  • Prevents the reverse flow of polluted water
  • Durable, bronze body construction
  • Replaceable seat
  • Female NPT inlet and outlet with quarter turn shutoffs
  • Easy internal access

This 3/4 inch anti-siphon pressure vacuum breaker backflow preventer helps prevent the reverse flow of polluted water from entering the potable water supply due to backsiphonage. It consists of bronze body construction, silicone rubber check valve disc, plastic check valve seat, stainless steel springs, a bonnet with silicone rubber O-ring seal, a lightweight plastic disc float, tee handle shutoff, and test cocks for winterization draining. It is ideal in health hazard continuous pressure applications such as irrigation systems and industrial process water systems where the water enters the equipment at or below its flood rim. The maximum pressure is 150 psi (10.3 bar) and the minimum pressure is 15 psi (55kPa).

Bought one of these a while ago and it works great for the situation I was using it in, irrigation system to prevent backflow siphoning. The only thing I would recommend is to install a filter before the vacuum breaker valve. Even with municipal water it is surprising how much grit there can be. All these valves are finicky and can need to be repaired so the filter is good prevention. I then recently bought 2 more for a different application and had to return them. Nothing at all wrong with the valves themselves, so the 4 star rating still holds. BUT I overlooked something that may not be obvious to other buyers and so this may help you prevent making the same mistake. This product stops backflow siphoning but will not prevent pressurized back flow. If there is pressure in your system from another source other than the municipal water supply then you will need a double check or dual check back flow preventer. I have an irrigation pump from a well that is not potable water. There is a connection to the house water for priming the pump. Even though the well pump pressure is much less that house pressure, if that connection was mistakenly left open after the well pump primed, AND house pressure dropped for some reason, the well pump could pump water into the house. A double check back flow valve prevents that. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=double+check+valve

Outstanding!!! Bought this to replace the Febco made-in-China crap one that leaked constantly. This one works perfect. No leaks and easy to install, and cheaper than the crappy Febco one.

I originally had this same Watts anti-siphon pressure vacuum breaker attached to my sprinkler system but the body froze last winter and burst. This replacement seemed to be of better quality and is supposed to not freeze as easily. It was easy to install and worked right away when I turned the valves on without any leaks or problems. It arrived quickly and in good shape. I would recommend it.

I ordered this Watts 800M4QT and essentially saved hundreds of dollars by installing this myself versus hiring a plumber. I used the non-soldering pipes to connect the breaker to my sprinkler system and installation was a breeze. You just need to make sure you have the right size and shape of pipe and connector. When I initially turned on the system, pressure in the pipes forced the water to leak out of the newly sealed Watts however, after a couple of seconds the water stopped coming out and after 2 months, the system is working without any issues.

A quality product at a good price. I was looking for a solid component made of brass and I was not disappointed. Works great.

It is 10 times better built then the one the builder used. Old one was a piece of junk this one well worth the money and took 10 minutes to install. Live in Las Vegas, so a hard freeze is maybe 1 or 2 nights a year, I could get away with not covering it because it's so well built, but I have a cover so will use it come next winter. It is now one less thing to worry about with this unit. Quick ship, well pack, and all the plumbers & sprinkler dudes bought the all good ones after the last freeze at the big box stores so I went straight to Amazon, they always have what I need and I trust them
