Very beautiful wood and has a very nice contrast, the wood is dense and working with it does require sharp tools! As another reviewer pointed out this is unforgiving and will crack or splinter with excessive force. Also as stated in the description, this is supposedly much more difficult to glue then other woods because of the resins present in the wood; however, I didn’t have this particular issue.With most things from Rockler it is pricy but the quality of product you get is always phenomenal.

Lovely beautifully grained hardwood. Came exactly as i ordered it. One note about this particular wood is that it is brittle. working it is a delicate process with hand tools and power tools, the wood will tend to break and splinter if too much force is used instead of denting or deforming. it is very like working a carbon fiber material or fiberglass in that respect. So if you are working this material by hand be prepared to gently and slowly work the wood down to its final dimensions rather than using power tools to rip straight to the line as you are likely used to doing on more common species such as oak maple or pine.
