I bought these Westin 25-0675 step bars to make it easier for my wife to get in and out of our recently purchased 2000 Chevy S-10 ZR2. I looked at some cheaper alternatives but I wanted step bars where I could replace the rubber step pads years down the road if necessary. Westin has been in business for 40 years and replacement parts are readily available if needed. These step bars fit our 2000 Chevy S-10 ZR2 perfectly and look good. No drilling is required. They have a 5 year warranty. The mounting brackets attach to the #1 and #3 body mounts. Here are a couple of pointers. Generously spray the existing body mounts over several days with PB Blaster before installing the step bars. This will make loosening the bolts much easier if they have never been removed. Chevy stopped making the S10 and Sonoma in 2003 so in a lot of cases depending on the year of the truck the bolts could be extra tight due to rust and oxidation. I recommend using either a 3/8 or 1/2 inch breaker bar only. Do NOT use a metal pipe like I did to gain extra leverage. I broke the #1 body mount bolt on the front driver side like this. Use a breaker bar and make sure that you loosen a little and tighten a little. Once you feel the bolt is actually moving slightly in each direction and not just twisting, it should be safe to remove without fear of breaking off the head. If not, hit it with some more PB Blaster and try again the next day. The extra wait will pay off if you don’t have to deal with a broken bolt. When the existing body mount bolts are loosened they may feel a little weird due to potential surface rust in the body mount itself as the rubber parts of the mount actually feel like they are a combination of rubber and infused metal.Installing these step bars is pretty straight forward once the existing body mount bolts are removed and should take about an hour or less to complete. Loosely attach the mounting brackets and step bars and tighten everything up after everything is in place. The hardest part of the job is installing the rear mount on the driver side because of brake cable and brake line. You will need a long extension to tighten the rear mount bracket on the driver side. I highly recommend when installing the mounting bracket and step bar bolts you use some brake caliper pin lubricant to help remove the bolts later if necessary.Westin 25-0675 step bars are practical and compliment the overall look of the truck.

Have bought these previously so I knew they fit my 2000 Sonoma extended cab 4WD. All necessary hardware is included. Personal recommendation, use silicone on the bolt threads to make it easy to remove if needed.

Nice looking step side or 'nerf bars'.I needed more black on my truck, and I like the look of them.Do we actually use them to you know, step in and out of the truck? No not really, but it looks much better.Install was pretty straight forward. Took less than 30 mins, though I had to have my wife hold them while I bolted them on.2001 Chevy S10 V6 4WD

I needed to replace my bars, they sacrificed themselves to protect my truck and were much closer to rusting off than I would have ever suspected (5 northeast winters). This part number fits the final generation S10/Sonoma/Hombre extended cabs. The 77 inch mentioned above in the details is for the shipping box. If you want chrome, #25-0670 is for you.
