I love sharks and this kit has everything you need to make it. The instructions are really nice with clear photographs. The colors are great and quality wool. It’s a fun project, which doesn’t take a very long time to complete.

If you're a beginner at needle felting, this kit is great. It came with everything I needed to get started, except for a foam pad. The directions are easy to follow. I love that the instructions and the product page photos show variations of the shark. Now I don't feel bad that mine doesn't perfectly match the image on the box lol. I'm about halfway done with the shark, but mine looks a little more like a whale at the moment. I can't wait to see how I've done after it's complete. Here's some photos of my progress so far.

This a fun felting kit if you already have basic supplies and knowledge. I did not; I ended up buying a felting pad, needle holder, and finger protectors in order to use this kit. It also includes different color wools for fine details than what the instructions state, and the instructions themselves leave out a few details, such as how much wool to use for each piece and how big to make each piece. With that said, the included wool roving and needles are of good quality and it’s really a fun project.

This is decent for a no frills starter kit. But it doesn't have some basic things, like a pad to do the felting on, or any finger protection. Instructions on paper and video don’t quite match. They both skip lots of info but the video has a bit more info than the paper instructions. There’s really not good tips for trickier stuff, like the smaller shapes. Not great info on how much wool to use. The video shows tools being used that don’t come with the kit. The video example shark is really sloppy. It comes with a type of wool that’s long and smooth, and can be harder to work with. But this was a good test for me and I still really enjoyed doing this kind of craft, so I'll be getting more supplies and do moe of this on my own!

I have actually done a fair bit of needle felting before and when this little derpy shark came up I knew I wanted to try it!The kit includes two felting needles, three colors of wool and instructions. I really appreciate having a video tutorial included with this as it's often very hard to follow 2D images when constructing a 3D shape like this. You do have to put in an email address to access the video, which I don't love, but the video itself was very helpful. I felt like I had plenty of wool for a small shark and this was fun to make.Since this is marketed at beginners I do want to point out one issue with the kit if you have not needle felted before which is the lack of a mat. In order to needle felt you will need to have something dense to stick the felting needle into. The kit even briefly mentions that you need this, but it's not included and there's not a lot of information on what you could use for a quick DIY (such as a small muslin bag filled with rice), as I doubt that many non-crafters have a random foam or wool block laying around. So if you are a complete beginner, just know you will need one additional tool that is not included.I will also say to beginners that felting needles are SHARP. The projects I don't accidentally stab myself at least once are few and far between. Especially If you're handing this over to a kid to make, maybe have a leather or cut resistant glove to wear on the non-dominant hand.

This is a decent starter kit, but it doesn't have everything you would want. There is not a foam pad to work on, finger protectors, or a handle for the needles included in the individual kit. You receive a tube with a couple of needles, the felting, and instructions. You can still make the project, but you will need to be careful and have something to protect the surface you are working on. It was an ok way to practice skills and the instructions were good.

The only things this kit lacks is a felting surface (foam, wool, or something else dense and thick), and stabby needle protection for the hand holding the project in proces... Some leather gloves work well, or you can get leather finger sleeves if you're only worried about your fingers. I happened to already have several foam blocks, so no sweat there.Otherwise, this has everything you need to try your hand at a derpy, toothy shark! The wool colors are all kind of intermingled in the bag, so take some time to disentangle them from each other before you get started, for the cleanest results, and STAB, STAB, STAB until the wool adheres to the project well and isn't making your shark look overly furry. It's a clever design, and a fun way to be creative!

I have been a needle felter for many years and love to introduce new people to the art. My friend had never done any needle felting, and so I ordered this and invited her over for an evening of creativity. She loves sharks and made a very cute shark, not the one pictured, but she had lots of fun and learned a new skill. I would highly recommend this kit those new to needle felting.
