Solid, well-made KLR650 footpegs. These pegs offer the flexibility of being able to use either the stainless steel ridged foot section or the rubber foot section, using 4 hex screws (per footpeg). Given that the KLR is a single cylinder "thump[er," the option of being able to use vibration dampening rubber foot sections is appreciated when you're commuting on the highway, keeping the steel teeth sections for off-road use. I wouldn't want to change these on a daily basis, but if you only occasionally ride on challenging off-road terrain, and commuting to work on the bike five days a week, it only takes a few minutes to change the sections. These pegs are considerably heavier than stock KLR pegs, so that adds some vibration dampening all by itself. The pegs also offer the option of being able to rotate the position of the pegs on the bike, which, depending on the setup of your bike, and the boots you're wearing, is helpful. What's more helpful is the fact that the rotating section that lets you orient the pegs also lets you set...to a certain extent, the height of the pedals. I was able to lower my pegs by almost an inch, which, for a tall rider, definitely made riding more comfortable. On drawback is the fact that the metal casting that lets you rotate the pegs also puts the pegs further outboard, which in turns, affects the positioning of the shifter and brake pedals in relation to the original footpeg position, as seen in the seller's product photos. One can actually just not use the rotating metal section, and in this manner, mount the pegs as close to the bike as the original Kawasaki pegs.Given that there were no directions with these footpegs, I'm assuming that it is safe to not use these rotating components, especially since you can still rotate the pegs before securing them to the bike frame. I've tried doing that, and the pegs fit fine, and in addition, felt even more secure than if I had used the dedicated "rotating" and lowering section.Don't lose those little pins in the bag of parts. They're used to secure the footpegs to the mounting components by placing them in locating holes in the pegs and mounts. You can see them in the product photos on the seller's site. Anyone who is capable if installing footpegs can undoubtedly figure it out, but printed instructions would have been appreciated.Don't forget Loctite thread sealer on the mounting screws...I used "low strength" just to make sure the pegs don't fall off...

This is an unusual set of footpegs in that they are designed so that you can use the rubber foot pads for a more cushioned rest, or to keep your shoe shoes in his condition, or, you can leave the rubbers off, and have a good cleated peg that offers an excellent grip off road, even on smooth speed motocross style boots. These look good visibly, with a nice powder coat black finish, and are made just as well, with strong conduction that should hold up to a lot of abuse. They fit my KLR exactly as they should, and were easy to install, just a simple swap for the stock ones. The rubber pads can be bolted on and off as needed, and I only use mine if I know there is going to be a lot of highway, to cut down on vibration from the pegs going into my feet. The cleats grip well though, and that is what I keep them like most of the time. I think that these being a well made product that offers features not typically available they are a good value for the money.
