I bought this to help with trimming of a large property. It really does help not getting hard debris hitting your face. Extremely adjustable.

I was always nervous about weed whacking because of the pain of tiny rocks hitting my face. This mesh face shield works great. My face is protected from flying small bits of rocks, thrown up by my weed wacker at full power. This is a battery-powered weed wacker, so it has a lot of torque. I see the need for a neck protector though, as this mask stops at your chin. Several smaller pieces of rocks stung my neck.I wear a collar shirt, with the collar up, but that only does so much. Perhaps a neck gaiter, like one worn on cold days, would be helpful. Of course, wear long-sleeved shirts and gloves when weed whacking, because you'll want to be like a Terminator and power through everything once you realize the protection this mask provides!Note: Does not protect against dust and dirt. This is a mesh after all.

After reading the reviews I almost didn’t order this.I have an unusually large head It fits fine, just loosen the dial put it on and tighten the dial It took all of two minutes to assemble Anyone who takes longer is a mechanical moron It provides plenty of protection for what it is designed to do which is protect one from flying debris while weed whacking or doing some light duty chain saw My vision is impaired and I can see through the screen just fine The mesh is better than the clear plastic as in no fog no dulling and no cracks The sweatband works and could be easily replaced with something homemade if necessaryThis said, this is not a commercial piece of equipment You cannot throw it in the back of the truck and let it rattle around It will not last if used10 hours a day 5 days a week It is not air conditioned, massaging, or trained to hear your personal problemsIf you are a homeowner and will use this thing every couple of weeks through the summer, buy it If you care enough to clean the debris from the mesh before it has time to dry in place, buy it If you take care of your stuff as in hang this on the garage wall when done with it, buy it If you are smart enough to loosen then lightly tighten the headband every time you put this on, then buy itI’m expecting 2-3 years of service and at this price point that will be a bargain If it fails before that I’ll update this review

I have been using the face shield for two seasons now and am very satisfied. It is very light, comfortable, and easy to take on and off. I have worn it for as long as 4 hours without feeling any discomfort. It is also simple to adjust the size if used by someone else. The screen does not obstruct my vision in a noticeable way unless debris begins to accumulate on it (as with a string trimmer). Unlike solid face shield I have used in the past, this screen does not block air movement at all. As a result, it is not hot and there is no concern with vapor buildup. I especially like the fact that the shield can be rotated up without taking it off. If necessary, it is easy to wash and/or scrub.I use it with a range of tools where eye protection alone is not sufficient. More than once it has saved me from being struck in the face. I won't work without it.Given the low cost, I was initially concerned that it might be a piece of junk and not hold up. The opposite is true. It seems quite durable, and I would definitely buy it again. It is surprising that nothing like this is sold at Lowe's or Home Depot (at least in our area). They are missing out on a good product.

Okay let's get this clear, it is not perfectly see through. If you are doing very delicate woodworking or so this is not the face shield you need as it does inhibit some visibility. I use it for my table saw and sometimes have to raise the face mask to make sure that the blade and pencil line meet up as the mesh can inhibit it. As for protection I would say its not a riot face mask and anything big chunk of wood will most likely dent it. I am not sure if it will stop a piece of nail if you accidentally hit one with a saw blade. But it will most likely slow it down a lot where it would go from a full on injury to maybe a scratch. As for ability to wear ear protection, I have a pair of over the ear ear protection and I can feel that the ear protection is not as snug and it lets in more noise than if I am not wearing it.As for fitting, it has a nice adjustable head strap that quickly fits your headAs for the hinge, its not as secure as I would like but for the price adequate. If you move your head quickly with it in the up position it will go down.

A very nice face shield. I live in Hawai'i and it tends to get a little warm. I used to have the clear plastic shield and would get too warm on the face while cutting with my string trimmer because of the dead air between your face and the shield. This Shield with the perforated material, offers great protection while air can still circulate about the face. The head band can be adjusted in two ways. A slide and snap band over the top of the cranium controls how far down the shield sets on your head and the knob on the main strap adjusts the fit to the circumference of your head. There is a small plastic covered foam pad at the front of the adjustable band for comfort. I do wear a bandanna under the shield straps. This controls the perspiration on the brow as well as an extra layer of comfort it helps to in keeping wet and soggy clippings from getting into the hair.Cleaning the screen is a bit of a chore when the clippings are fresh. They get into the small holes have to be rubbed vigorously to dislodge or wait until it drys. I couldn't wait for it to dry as there was much to be cut and if the sun is in your face, the debris will cause a glare that makes it hard to see. Its not as bad as a plastic face shield though, especially if as the plastic get old and scratched.
