I love using LR Baggs products, but Barcus Berry so far hasn't let me down yet. I bought two of these so far and they are every bit as good as the baggs in my option. What I like most is that the BB 1320 is about $50 ish cheaper than the baggs for pretty much the exact same thing. What is also great is that is you get (IMO) the exact same tone. Now if you want the baggs I'm not saying don't buy them because they are good, they just cost a little more. But, if you want to save a few bucks and get just as good sound and tone, this product will deliver. I look at tit like this: Charlie Daniels has been using BB fiddles now for around 4 decades. A company doesn't stay in business unless they are making something worth while. To wrap this up pair this pickup with a good acoustic pre amp, or an acoustic amp and you will not be displeased by any means.

The pros don't use these things for nothing. It is the pick up to have. Have one on all three of my fiddles and they work great.

I lead a church worship band, and after years of using a microphone for the violin we asked the violinist if she would like to "electrify" her violin. We are very pleased with the sound. Not only is it a very pleasing natural sound, but it also sounds beautiful running through an effects processor (mostly some delay and reverb). Be aware that this is a "rough" bridge and will need to be fitted to the violin. I had a local shop do the work....just know that will add to the cost unless you are skilled with this type of work. All in all -- we (the violinist, the band, and the worshipers) are all very pleased with the sound.

My unit did not come with instructions. You will need to do some soldering and a little wood work to get it installed correctly. I would take it to a Luther if at all possible. I like the tonality, specially with Celtic, Cajun, Jazz and Bluegras
